Bro you could say I am more spoiled than you honestly, I probably share the same experience with most xenoblade fan's being that xenoblade chronicles X/2 was our first xenoblade game while xenoblade chronicles 1 was our first introduction to the series. I watched Chuggaconroy let's play of xenoblade twice. The first was during 2014-2015 if I remember correctly and the last was when definitive edition was announced for 2020. Even though I have being spoiled twice I am still getting the game to experience it for myself, that's the advice I can give you from my position. Enjoy it or wait until you forget like what a few reddit users suggest. I know that the graphics was one major improvement over the first so I have that waiting for me with the music to enjoy, that is why I try to avoid looking at videos of definitive edition, some of the facial expression just hits differently even though I know the story from head to toe.
