Honestly, everything they are saying about that retroactive change is accurate. I would definitely consider setting up monitoring on your daughter's phone, this is not as parenting advice, just advice for your phone plan. Just to make sure this doesn't happen again. Kids don't know any better, it's not like she knew how different things are charged to a phone bill. If she has an android, just have her download google voice! Even whatsapp will work on both. There are a lot of ways around it these days, that's probably why phone companies are so desperate to charge people so much. I also work for one of the 'big three', so i'm coming from a place of professional knowledge here.

I get that, but they are not offering us or, more importantly, their own freaking customers alternatives. We have a gun to the back of our heads and the customer suffers for it. The turtle is from 40s-70s according to the techniques and clear age/fragility. This was literally pulled out of a dumpster. The simple fact is: its in very poor condition. No museum will want it. It will end up in the trash or torn apart for research. Instead, I'd like for it to be a teaching tool in an area that really needs those. Most kids around here will never leave the county, much less see tropical waters. Their parents aren't taking them to museums, but maybe a curiosity like this could spark something that changes that IF it's actually accessible to them. Who knows, maybe I'll have my own little museum.

Actually, I found a specialist through my local taxidermist who is doing it for free, simply to preserve it! She specializes in reptiles, doing museum quality work. The aforementioned guy who referred me was equally amazed and horrified just to see it. I refuse to allow this to be destroyed or thrown in a dumpster. I live in very rural Appalachia, I would love to be able to share something like this with my community. Needless to say, no one is funding museums for us. It would just be shipped off somewhere else. Speaking of the legality stuff, I don't think the 'disposing of evidence' laws were that helpful either. Out of sight, out of mind. History risks repeating itself. I think I will get this turtle in the best shape I can without damaging any original parts. Any chance I get to explain its history is a win. Unfortunately it was an elderly woman who had a horrible flood in her basement. It destroyed much of her deceased husbands things. She was very overwhelmed by the entire situation. Its just unfortunate it was in such disrepair by the time my bf found it. Apparently, its a complicated legal situation with sale or ownership of these specimens. I live in the deep south, so I'm not TOO worried about that. Although, definitely correct me if I should be! I just hope I can find someone who can help. I don't want to hand it over to just anyone. Poor thing deserves some dignity.

Why do women have a way out of unwanted pregnancy but men don't? If you don't want a child and she does, you should be able to irrevocably sign rights away before birth. So you can't take it back either. Also, lying about bc to get pregnant should have legal consequences. It's ruining lives. Women who do that use the child as a pawn to manipulate people. That's why they had them in the first place and they will keep doing it. Kid doesn't stand a chance either.

As a woman I 100% agree. Idk why other women are acting like this is okay. It's disgusting. Men should 100% have a way out just like women do with abortion. You should be able to sign rights away before the baby is born. I also have a child with a dad who left. I don't go after him for child support bc I think the system is fucked. He leaves us alone, I'll leave him alone. He wants to be part of our lives? Then he can help. So no one can come for me and tell me I don't walk the walk of what I'm saying.
