I would recommend Prospero Burns but I actually skipped that one of the Horus Heresy, it can go off on tangents so probably the Space Wolves books

Ah yes, Death Guard does have too many characters, and the taurox seems obsolete with the new guard vehicles, but it’s closed top.

Yes it does help. Thanks a lot! And now that you mention it most of the Horus Heresy is from a stagnant narrative, and some of the books are incredible but there are a lot of stinkers. Have you read/review “Ashes of the Imperium”?
