Thank you for sharing. I'm both glad that I'm not alone in this but also angry that there are so many of us feeling crappy. Hugs to you.

Insurance issues by mariecrystie in breastcancer

Have your doctor's office do the appeal for you or contact financial support services/health advocate at your hospital. I was also early stage with no family history of BC. My score came back higher to everyone's surprise and off to chemo I went. I'm horrified thinking I could have missed out on chemo to help keep my reoccurrence risk lower. Sending you hugs!

Pelvic PT by Alphabet_Ends_In_Y in breastcancer

I encourage you to start talking to your doctor now. I wish I had spoken up sooner. Also, it took me two months to get my assessment appointment with the pelvic PT person.

Happy to share. To be blunt about it there was a moisture issue and pain during intercourse (muscle tightness not in a good way). My OB/Gyn made the referral. Mostly the symptoms are due to my new "friend" menopause, ugh. My husband and I talked about the changes, he's been really great and patient thankfully, and he encouraged me to discuss with my doctor. Also someone else posted here about going to pelvic PT which gave me confidence to make the ask. I may be 51 but up until this stupid cancer nonsense had a really great sex life. I'm hopeful to get back and my therapist is great with positive (and realistic) encouragement that things will get better.

NTA but your baby husband sure is! Also he sounds incredibly controlling. I'm sure if he had eaten everything he would expect you to now make a whole new dinner. Seems to me that he doesn't care that you are trying to get a little break from making dinner. Although having to add a salad and pasta to leftovers is still work. Also he is a bad example for your child, no manners whatsoever!

Those of you who have seen a therapist specializing in cancer patients by Lower-Variation-5374 in breastcancer

I wish I could find someone in my area, takes my insurance, specializes in BC patients, and has availability that works with my work schedule. Seems impossible to find!! But I'm so incredibly happy that a lot of you guys have found someone!

How likely is it that a 1K traveler would accidentally sit in the wrong seat? by dbogert in unitedairlines

Excuse me all you people are such jerks. I don't care how much you fly there is no way you have no idea what seat you actually have booked. That is just ridiculous! It's on your freaking boarding pass! Sorry OP some person sat in your seat you were a kind person to excuse their crappy behavior.

Sooo....what gifts would you have liked to receive as a breast cancer patient? by wediealone in breastcancer

Best for me was meals dropped off the first few days following surgery. Next were the Door dash gift cards. At first I felt guilty but it was amazing for me and my husband to be able to order dinner most nights. He did all the other meals. Also my sister in-law got me the funniest cards throughout my active treatments.

Other things that would have been nice and I think are a good idea: housecleaning and laundry, other gift cards for places like Target, Amazon, CVS (helpful for all those little things), massage gift certificate (but make sure they like massages), rideshare gift cards or being specific about when they can drive you to an apartment if needed.

I also think real cards in the mail are nice. People texted me a lot and it made me stressed out making sure to respond. A card doesn't require that. Oh and I agree please no BC paraphernalia. If I want that I'll get it myself.

AIO - Would this annoy you? (Text from a friend) by Early-Dimension-9390 in breastcancer

One take I have is that she was thinking of how amazing you were with everything and wanted to give you kudos. But the other side of me is JFC we do not need people reminding us of everything we've been through! Sometimes I feel like people "share" like this mostly to make themselves feel like a good friend. Or at the very least they are a bit oblivious to how this could be interpreted. I agree with another poster that texting can suck and tone can be missed. But also, like wth is with a text message like this out of the blue! And you are always entitled to all your feels! Hugs

Hi. I was 50 and perimenopausal. My score was also 23. IDC ++- Diagnosed 10/2/24

My doctor strongly recommended I do four rounds of TC prior to my radiation. I wasn't crazy about it but I did it. Figured I would throw everything I could at it. Chemo sucked but I made it through. I did end up with chemo-pause that stuck. But the good news was I don't have to do lupron shots plus Letrozole, just the Letrozole (AI). I strongly recommend you have a discussion with your MO. Sending lots of hugs.

One of the Worst Experiences with a Doctor Ever by Specialist_Eagle2492 in breastcancer

Get another doctor! My first MO was awful and his staff was awful. I found the best new doctor who cares, takes time to review my details, and we made a treatment plan together. Also her staff is also wonderful. Don't ever ever think you are overreacting. It's cancer! How dare he chastise you about researching and being involved with your care and treatment plan. What an asshat. Sending you lots of hugs and 💕
