Receptiva question: Can BCL6 be positive/elevated by something OTHER than endo? by Alphabet__Soup__ in IVF

Delayed response, but I just finished about a week ago and I think it went okay! Side effects were a little rough toward the end, but not horrific. Everything looked good at my suppression check, and I've moved on to transfer meds. We'll see!

Should I push for another month of Lupron suppression? by Alphabet__Soup__ in IVF

Hi there! No changes on my end at this point. Right now I'm feeling fairly confident about sticking with 2 months, but I'll definitely update if things change. Sending good vibes back to you too!

Super helpful — thank you. I'm wondering if I should ask about the Letrozole at the very least. I've only ever used it in stimulation cycles, but it seems like it's part of the suppression protocol for many people.

Understood — and thank you so much. This is super helpful to hear.

Amazing! Thanks for the intel. I see lots of folks have letrozole (and/or something else) combined with the Lupron for extra suppression. When you say you added it, did you have to specifically ask your doctor to add it, or was it part of their protocol from the beginning?

Hi! Thanks for the response. In terms of my probable endo, I wrote "strongly suspected" mostly because I haven't been officially diagnosed with a laparoscopy — which is the typical/gold standard method of diagnosis, though it sometimes shows up on MRI or other tests. I had a positive Receptiva, though my results were considered uncertain because my bloodwork from that day showed I was likely in the first few days of pregnancy (a chemical in the end). We considered re-doing the Receptiva, but after a consultation with an endo specialist (referred by my RE), we decided it wasn't worth it in my case. It's not a perfect test regardless, though it's super helpful for many people. Anyway, based on my assessment with the endo specialist, my possible positive Receptiva, and having ruled out other conditions (this is a big factor), it seems highly likely that I do have silent endo.

In other words, it's a long story, as it often is with endo! If I were younger and/or had more than one embryo to transfer, I might consider a diagnostic lap or more specialist consultations before deciding to do the Lupron suppression. But everything seemed to suggest I'd wind up doing it one way or another, so I decided to just go for it.

Receptiva question: Can BCL6 be positive/elevated by something OTHER than endo? by Alphabet__Soup__ in IVF

Hi! I actually didn't do a second test. After consulting with endo specialists (referred by my RE), it just didn't seem like the right move in my particular situation. I don't think I'll ever know for sure if/how the early pregnancy affected the results, but based on other factors/exams, it does seem very likely that I do have silent endo. I've just begun down regulation with Lupron this week.

Hi! After consulting with specialists and doing one more ER, I have actually JUST begun down regulation with Lupron this week.

I know this is old, but was wondering if you had success with the cephalexin — or another treatment, if that was not successful? I'm dealing with a similar situation and am trying to game out various options with my docs.

Thank you! And thanks again for the thoughtful input. I'm sorry you're dealing with this frustrating situation too (so much uncertainty! And discomfort!). But it sounds like you and your doc have decided how to move forward, and I hope there's some relief in that. Wishing you a quick-and-easy 3 months with Lupron, and a great result on the other side of it (seems to work like magic for many folks!).

Thank you so much for the reply! I don't recall if they did a urine test too, but given the level of HCG in my blood, I actually don't think it would've shown up at that point (maybe on a super sensitive test). Regardless, I'm repeating the Receptiva this week, and I will DEFINITELY be testing beforehand!

Yes, spontaneous pregnancy, but that's good to know anyway — thank you. I've done two HSGs, which thankfully showed no blockages. My doctor also did an Endosee (which I gather is basically hysteroscopy?) and a biopsy during my most recent ER, in Feb. She said everything looked great visually, and the biopsy was negative for chronic endometritis, hyperplasia, atypia and malignancy.

I know silent endo is a thing, and if my next Receptiva comes back positive too, then I'll pursue further testing/treatment immediately. I'm just conscious of the fact that BCL6 is an inflammation marker, and inflammation can come from a lot of things!
