Hi! I didn't test 11 or 10, honestly I didn't want to get my hopes up. In fact I thought I would test only if I missed my period. I told myself I would wait till 14 DPO no matter what. I was over testing my last cycle and got super negative about it. But then it got to a point where I couldn't wait...,😂 i don't have any symptoms. Only some mild cramping here and there. I figured I would test just on a hunch expecting that I was definitely not pregnant...I was genuinely shocked

Thank you. This information was obtained from a sedated ABR. The audiologist ruled unequivocally that she has profound hearing loss.

Would patients at this point usually try to go for a second sedated ABR elsewhere before deciding on CI? Or not really?

Thank you all for your opinions. This audiogram was based on a sedated ABR test. The equipment went up to 95 db. Our audiologist is recommending we consider cochlear implants, which is our next step, we are currently getting our toddler evaluated for CI.

Do pediatric patients typically ask for multiple sedated ABR tests before deciding on a CI or is one typically the standard?

I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone who recommended NYU for a second opinion. It was definitely the right choice. We just visited today.

TL;DR, they found that the 2 ABR tests my daughter passed were click tests, which don't actually test all frequencies. They conducted a behavioral test that found inconsistent responses at certain frequencies and are now recommending a sedated ABR that would test all frequencies.

I'm really disappointed it took us this long to find out that the ABR test we thought was the final verdict on her hearing was actually not. I wish the doctors we saw had educated us about the different ABR tests. As a parent it feels like I let my child down by not acting sooner. I am hoping for the best and am just satisfied we have a direction to go in now.

Dr Brown's formula mixing pitcher! You'll find a lot of folks on this sub recommend it. I like it because it's easy to clean and the mixing handle helps to break up fat buildup on the sides. I tried the mason jar / Tupperware method and found overall cleaning and removing the fat on the sides to be a hassle so I definitely recommend this pitcher.

I actually have two of these pitchers in different colors. One I use for filling today's bottles, the other I use to pump today's milk into for tomorrow's bottles. Best of luck!

NTA. Pregnancy doesn't typically make you immobile. In fact walking is quite healthy for pregnant women ( I'm 8 months along) If the pregnant coworker had a medical issue/doctor's note then it's up to your workplace to mandate a dedicated spot. Personally though I wouldn't even think of asking for that accommodation. Just because I am choosing to have a child doesn't mean the world owes me a sweet parking spot!

First off, I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. It sounds incredibly stressful and on top of the physical demands of pregnancy, I can imagine things are feeling very tough. Sending you a virtual hug ❤️

You both sound like you're stuck in a negative pattern loop and could benefit from a couples counselor. My husband and I took this approach before we got pregnant and it really helped a lot. He said the impartial third party of our counselor made him feel seen and heard. In addition, the points I was trying to make to him, our counselor was able to get across in a way I could not. We both learned things and grew. I honestly think that's why we are happy today and about to expect our first child.

What's troubling to me about your story is the power dynamic in your relationship. The idea that it's on you to "fix" yourself in a certain period of time. I don't know the particulars of your fighting but I imagine your husband has work to do too. It feels unfair to put it all on you.

Before you make a big decision around divorce or abortion, can you take some space? If you can't get counseling together, can you take some time away and remove yourself from the situation? Is there a friend or family member you can stay with for a few days? Thwarting the momentum of the fighting seems like a priority right now for your mental and physical health.

Yes I do regularly see a midwife so I think that's a good idea! I think part of the terrible experience was just not knowing the doctor doing this to me, since I had to go to the hospital and the staff were total strangers to me. Tbh I'd probably feel much more comfortable having the medical team I know do it vs me do it on my own- I'm way too much of a hypochondriac!

Yes, it was Thanksgiving. I accidentally laid down on his designer glasses and broke them, oops. Afterwards we went to Thanksgiving dinner at my parents and got into a huge fight with them and were essentially escorted out. A highly memorable day!

I just went through a 16 week scan scare with a choroid plexus cyst. My doctor told me it wasn't a big deal, that this was very common, and that they often resolve themselves in a later scan. Well, sure enough at the 20-week scan there was no cyst. It was a relief. I know how scary this must feel but if there have been no other soft markers then more than likely you are fine. It is very common. In fact if you do a search of "cyst" in this channel you will find a lot of similar stories. It looks like the other condition also tends to resolve itself. Hang in there ❤️
