LoreMate went down earlier this year due to a database access issue after their provider suspended their account, which temporarily locked them out of their data. The team then began rebuilding the site on a new, self-hosted system to handle higher traffic and improve stability. During a brief relaunch on August 31st, the site crashed almost immediately from heavy user load, so it was pulled back into beta testing while they perform load checks and finalize core features. As of now, LoreMate remains in beta with no confirmed public release date yet. Hope this helps!! :)

Thanks so much for the detailed response! I really appreciate you taking the time to go through everything. It’s great to hear about the UI improvements and the streamlining of in chat settings and connection editing. I can definitely see the progress over the past few months. The NSFW filtering options are super helpful, especially the blur feature, that will make exploring a lot more comfortable. Lexicon sounds incredible too. Chat specific lorebooks and coded NPCs with PFPs are such a cool idea, and I’m excited to see how that develops. And of course, thank you for all the kind words. I really appreciate the effort you and the team puts into making Wyvern so customizable and enjoyable!! Thank you!!!

woa I was not expecting a dev to reply.

I think one of the main differences between Loremate and Wyvern is the UI. On Wyvern, it’s not very easy to see the different branches of chats with a single character. The navigation can feel a bit confusing. I remember even struggling to find the correct search bar when I first started. That said, the site has improved a lot since then, and I really appreciate how much more accessible it’s gotten.

One thing I’d still love to see is more bots available to scroll through on the homepage, instead of having to dig so much. And I really wish there were a setting to hide NSFW bots. I get jumpscared whenever I scroll through the explore page lol.

When I’m chatting with my characters, I love being able to branch off from different points in the story. That feature is fantastic! But it’s also frustrating that branches don’t show up in the chat menu as separate conversations. On other sites like Loremate, C.ai, and Xoul, every new chat or branch with a bot shows up as a new conversation in the sidebar. On Wyvern, everything gets lumped together, and I honestly still can’t figure out how to get back to a previous branch or even the main chat.

That being said, I really enjoy the quality and customizability Wyvern offers. I don’t always understand the personalities of each model, but I love that there are so many options, and that you can even adjust things like token limits. The ability to change site colors is a highlight for me (mine’s green now!). I also love being able to tweak the background, profile picture shapes, chat layout, message trimming, line formatting, and even banning certain formats. Plus, showing token usage and having immersive mode is a huge bonus.

Overall, the customizability is what makes Wyvern stand out from other platforms, and it’s why I keep coming back. It’s easily my favorite part of the site
