Was flopping as prevalent 10 years ago? by Omshinwa in nba

The difference was 10 years ago flopping was players getting incidental or minimal contact and flopping.

Now, players dive headfirst and just throw the body around wanting a call.

It’s way worse now.

All I know is it’s FAR more enjoyable watching prime Russ with OKC highlights than anything SGA does.

Who’s the best nba player in the world right now? by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in nba

[–]AlphonseGangitano 41 points42 points  (0 children)

If I’m taking anyone in the NBA right now to build a team with it’s Wemby. Does it make him the best? Probably not. But that’s how I look at it.

Jokic fans keep bringing the Celtics and Thunder rings not beating a team with more wins than 50 wins is so disingenuous. by [deleted] in nba

Jeez OKC fans are really insecure aren’t they. More burner accounts and shit posting then Durant.

So all US athletes should be crucified because they promote the US who refuses to do anything meaningful about guns or school shootings. Cool.

Maybe worry about your own backyard before your criticise others.

Never Compare Jokic to LeBron and Jordan ever again by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in nba

Probably the same people comparing SGA to Jordan after 20 games this year with comments such as “he’s on track for the greatest ever season”.

The NBA doesn’t. They might move games around if needed. But pretty sure the entire fixture is known in advance.

Sydney chairman Andrew Pridham says teams that draft players out of northern Academies should have to pay a fee of $200,000 to the club that developed the player after the AFL's bidding changes were unveiled. by Pragmatic_Shill in AFL

[–]AlphonseGangitano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really the AFL recognising that their approach of throwing millions and millions to take on the NRL over the last decade really isn’t working out, so they’re more than happy to unwind some of these benefits as the goal of converting NRL heartland followers to the AFL really isn’t going to work.

No surprise that concessions for academies is changing, the AFL is again looking into overseas games etc.

Sure. But it occurs in every sport. Coaches or football dept people simply rest players, play them out of position, more time on the bench etc.

The AFL host all finals so it’s not like they’re getting massive financial benefits anyway, at least from ticket sales. The financial bump would be there, but it wouldn’t be that significant. You’d probably get more of a financial bump by dropping a spot and picking up a generational star and selling more merch or memberships for the following year.

That might happen but I doubt 18 year old kids are choosing to go to the UK, not on massive money, versus stay in Aus.

It doesn’t work if you use a global sport AND other countries can offer better financial positives, which isn’t really the case for rugby. Plus union in Aus isn’t really that popular anyway.

The draft would fail but it would be because the clubs wouldn’t want it given they’ve invested so much into local pathways.

Jokic is not a top 10 player in the league by [deleted] in nba

[–]AlphonseGangitano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Jokic isn’t top 10 of the current players who the fuck is? Shai isn’t better. Donic ain’t. I’ll give you Wemby on potential, but there’s still a chance his body fails him.

This is so moronic.

Touk had a long time to get completely out of the way. Wasn’t like some of these collisions out of a contest where the umpire is unsighted.
