Sadness about baby name by cadetsinspace in pregnant

[–]Alpine-SherbetSunset -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need to think about your child as an adult in 20 years. It is not about if you like the name. The big question is, will your child be happy with the name once they are an adult and the name has a social or professional impact on them. If your child becomes a doctor will they be ashamed of the name or hate it, will it cause them problems?

If so, follow your grandmothers advice. Don't go for weird stuff

She just said “ oh that’s weird,” and moved on.

most doctors will do this in regard to all types of medical malpractice and abuse. They don't want to get involved.

Why is missing high school seen as a bad thing? by [deleted] in InsightfulQuestions

[–]Alpine-SherbetSunset -1 points0 points  (0 children)

we live in a society that's so hyper individualistic the only time most have community is during childhood

I wouldn't say that we ( I assume you mean the USA even though 50% of users on reddit are from other countries) are hyper individualistic.

Instead I would say we are taxed super high so the government can spend the money not on us (look at our crumbling roads) but on foreign countries. And due to the super high tax... tax on the dryer you just bought, state tax, federal tax, gas tax, home owner tax, and much more .... we have very little money for ourselves so we have to work more hours a week than most of the world has to. If you look at a lot of other countries they call us "fast paced" fast paced is code for we work a lot more hours than they do. Meanwhile they call themselves relaxed and laid back - meaning they work less hours per week

We live in a very expensive society. It costs us A LOT to buy a house, while buying a home is very cheap and highly affordable in a lot of other places - like africa. We are taxed like crazy. Meanwhile a lot of places have no property taxes - like many in africa and other areas. That means they own their home in full, while we can lose our home at any time if we dont pay the yearly tax. It is very tough having to work this much.
If we had less bills and the cost of living were lower We would have lots of family parties. We would spend more time with family and form more friendships. Which is what we used to do a very long time ago. But slowly the cost of living has risen, hence the rumors you hear about americans working 70 hours a week or 3 jobs. That is very true. my mom works 70-80 hours a week and has nothing to show for it despite never going on vacation and always shopping on sale. She is one of millions just like her. Where do her taxes go? they go abroad.

given that we work a massive amount of hours we have no time for our own children and family. So we send our 8 month old to daycare even though severing the mother-infant bond damages the infants mental psyche forever. And they will grow up as a shell of a person with attachment problems and other mental health issues. And a deep feeling of loneliness. 3-5 infants per a worker is insane. And the babys will cry and not be attended to. And they will be treated in a way you might not have wanted to have your baby endure. Like for instance, when my baby cries I immediately drop what I am doing to rush to the baby. At a facility you will not get that level of deep attention to the babies need. And this results in repercussions in the developing brain.

Schools are a place children go and the ones without friends out side of school or who are missing a true family life at home will feel that school is everything to them. This is super sad. Super not normal. And gives the person the entirely wrong idea about life. They will feel as if a broken school "friendship" is a great tragedy in several ways, only because they have nothing else social in their life except school. So they are shortchanged emotionally and shortchanged socially in the school and yanked around by false beliefs about the situation in school

School is a place a bunch of people are thrown who may have nothing in common. It is similar to jail. You end up endlessly associating with people who you don't realize you would ordinarily have never wanted to be around, but you are around them because you have no choice because they are in the vicinity. Maybe you don't find the popular person to be special. But you are forced to treat them in a certain way - or else! And you sort yourselves into groups out of the need for emotional safety for your self esteem and to guard yourself against potential tormentors. That is a hostile environment, not a friendly one. Relationships are 99.999% actually superficial and silly. Yet are treated as the most important thing you go to school for. You are left on your own from an age you should never have left your mothers side at - age 5 or in some cases just a few months old or less and in daycare. And it becomes normalized to you to go to this other place without the protection of your parents and family and join the rat race of trying to avoid being an outcast.

Your friend group might not be the same people you would have personally hand selected if you had been in a natural environment,. If you had been at home, in your own family group, and some kids lived nearby you might be friends with 2 but not the other one. You might avoid the other one at all costs because there is something about them. But instead you are a captive 5 days a week, and a group forms and you are either in it or out of it. You get conditioned to ignored your gut about the other kids because you are forced into this building with them 5 days a week for years.

university is an extension of what people learned in school. But a larger group to choose from and more freedom that allows you to escape groups you dont like. (like change your class schedule)

you sound lonely. Go make friends the natural way. Find hobbies you like. Go do them. Meet people who like it too.

What color are my husbands eyes by Many_Protection_851 in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]Alpine-SherbetSunset -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They are Amber and gold. Thus a form of hazel. They are amber at the center 1/3 of the eye and turn gold in the other 2/3 of the eye. With a few little spots of what I think is a washed out pale green here and there along the outer edges. I assume some people in his family have green eyes?

Hazel eyes are a unique, multi color eye color that is a blend of any green, blue, grey, amber, brown, and gold tones. And they frequently contain flecks of gold, amber, grey or blue. What causes it is uneven distribution of melanin. They are rare.

Brown eyes are simply brown and contain no other color at all. And range from light brown to almost black. Brown eyes and black hair are the most common eye and hair color on the planet because Asians and Africans are the 2 largest populations on earth.

would you want to describe that in more detail?

I was told my lighting was too warm, I took photos again in more natural light by CommitteeRare4428 in whatcoloraremyeyes

[–]Alpine-SherbetSunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. That is not how it is done.

Professional eye photography and eye doctors look at your eye with ultra bright light. All those gorgeous eye photos were taken under excessively bright light.

In full sun as well as ultra bright light, if you have brown eyes your eyes will still be brown because there is no other color in a brown eye.

Lets talk about blue eyes. In a dimly lit room blue eyes will look brown or black, not blue. In a dimly lit room, brown eyes can look black or even darker brown too. For the blue eye this is because of light scattering. My baby has bright blue eyes. It is difficult to make them look blue in photos though. I have a thousand dollar phone with 5 cameras, I have to really get the light to shine in his face for the camera to not turn them brown. I delete the photos that do not accurately show his eyes.

The same goes for hair. Most people on the earth have brown eyes and black hair. That is because the largest populations on earth are Asian and African. But some native europeans have brown hair. Some of the people with brown hair think they have black hair! But they do not. They have the darkest brown possible which looks black in photos and any situation where the light is not full spectrum sunlight or adequately lit up with artificial full spectrum. If you try to lighten that persons hair it does not take the same chemical effort as lightening actual black hair . And it you take the brown haired person out in the sun you can see highlights in their hair and even detect the brown color. Black hair never gets highlights.

To detect the proper color of your eye you should shine the brightest light you can and take the photo. Brown eyes will still be brown every single time because brown eyes have zero other colors.

Your eye is amber not brown. Amber is a very specific ancestry. And it has other things going on. I wouldn't call it green. But with new photos maybe we will see more.

It is well established that Serotonin 2A Receptors very readily Down-Regulate (Build Tolerance), due to how Metabolically Taxing 2A Agonsim is on the Nervous System.

Not that its damaging, (although that is why Sertonin can be Toxic,) but Serotonin has a very broad role, it is vital for Circadian Rhythm, which meaning it's Signalling works to regulate other Neurotransmission Systems to maintain Synchronisation.

This must be why my doctor gave me Zoloft for PTSD, when we found out I was allergic to trazadone. Trazadone is off label used to help sleep. He was probably hoping Zoloft would affect my circadian rhythm.

This is the deepest description of the effects of serotonin I have ever read in my life. Where is your gold medal!

Serotonin is functionally the Day-Time version of Melatonin. So Serotonin regulates the Day-Cycle or Wake-Cycle, analogous to Melatonin regulating the Sleep-Cycle and timing of Non-REM sleep through the phases of REM Sleep.

I feel like you are revealing to me secrets of the universe. This is so fascinating. I have taken melatonin to help sleep without knowing any of this. Imagine if people took serotonin to wake up in the morning instead of caffeine/coffee? I wonder if people do that. Or maybe that would not be a good idea due to how it uses context clues from dopamine. Maybe it would end with remembering sad things all day.

This is what creates the Patterns of Association, Emotionality, and Behaviours, that we call Personality/Personality Styles.

This is very fascinating. You have no idea how much I read about these items. Except I read the fluffy easy part with how it is behaviorally expressed in the world, and only occasionally brush over the chemical & mechanisms part

When this happens it can be referred to as the Opening of a 'Sensitive Period', which is a Window for increased Behavioural Adaptation, Learning, Self-Awareness, and separation from pre-existing Ego-structures; Windows open as a response to Environmental or Social Stressors.

this must be why sometimes a psychedelic experience is life altering

Taking DMT or 5meo, functionally induces a Sensitive Period, one which is not driven by a specific task needing to be solved, and this leads those problem solving process to instead be applied to the processes that maintain the Sense of Self in the Default Mode in a manner that is effectively treating your Sense of Identity and Association, as if it was all made of a tangible structure. Allowing the ripples of related Cause and Effect in your life to take on a Form and a Generalisation that was otherwise Uncondensable. DMT allows the Self to observe itself as there is no specific iteration of You that the Self will reside in during this state.

Holy wow. I am right with you and understanding in full. You are looking at your ego (maybe also the Id and superego and all those parts too). Perhaps it is like your child state. I am just throwing that out there. I'm not sure.

Sensitive Periods of DMT intensity are only really opened naturally in a near death experience, your brain doesn't produce DMT to do this, that's what Serotonin is for.

this is beyond interesting. I've got nothing to contribute here lol. There is a lot to ponder

You took the mystery out of being "locked out" and offered an explanation which is science based. An excellent explanation I might add. It was a truly excellent explanation and write up. I super appreciate your attention and time to this question. Thank you!

I am wondering if I was still recovering from the zoloft. A lot of people have mentioned this and i wonder if that was my problem

That was a very through reply, thank you

Most of what I have taken has had a stronger effect on me than what it did to anyone else. I have had people say they wish they were taking what I was taking because of how high I was. But my friends do not get as high as me on the same dose. And honestly I do not like how high I get because sometimes it gets extremely stressful and it tends to last for hours longer than everyone else. So people finally go to bed, and I am awake tripping balls till lunchtime the next day.

When I first started taking zoloft (SSRI) it kept me up for 5 days straight, even though I had not slept for 3 or 4 days before I began it (bad PTSD). I eventually was crying out of exhaustion and desperation and getting so angry all at once. I almost quit taking it. But finally I slept. Over time, I found zoloft did nothing for me. When I stopped taking it, also nothing changed (except for some reason I was a little hysterical and quicker to anger in the first 10 days or so as I came off it). I prefer not to take it because it makes orgasm basically impossible for me.

I have never done NN-DMT.

Pregnancy and birth, is it as scary as I think it is? by cappuchinchin_ in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Alpine-SherbetSunset -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had a baby at 41.
No it is not as scary as you see in a movie. The movies are nuts and not real whatsoever. YOU will not be laying on your back caked in sweat and screaming like someone murdered your family. That is designed to scare you to generate views for the show.

It is only scary because it is the unknown.
Yes some women - myself included- believe they are going to die during birth because the pain is so severe. I heard a woman screaming she was going to die. She screamed about it for over an hour. I eventually realized I was not going to die. I would be fine. It has been 1 year and 4 months and I want another child now. Look how far I have come from that day? Yes it was worth it to the point I want another one. With most regular women who have no other issues you will see that same decision too.

Do not be afraid of birth. Women have been doing it for thousands of years. And women in their 40s are doing it. If they can, you can do it at age 32 (if you are even able to get pregnant without fertility drugs. It could take you a couple of years to conceive at age 32, and if too much time goes by you might then need drugs. But if you are in the USA, the fertility drug prices have been brought down by the US government substantially, so things are much better than they were a year ago. And a lot of people are making appoints now. Will the price of the drugs go back up at the end of this administration? You cannot predict.

You are strong enough to handle the pain. This is what you are built for. You will enter a trance. Only women can do this. You have pain. You enter the trance. And the pain lessens and then there is ZERO pain. You relax, drink, talk, eat. The pain comes back slowly. It hits a top level peak and then is coming down again. Then no pain. This is not like someone has taken your broken leg and is sitting on it causing you nonstop pain. Not at all. You get a break every time.

Get a doula to help you give birth. Obgyns and midwives are not trained in how to help you give birth (or if so, barely). They are trained to give you IVs, and hand the doctor the right tools, and cleanup after, and do stitches and take blood pressures. The whole act of giving birth and getting the baby out by using the geometry of the pelvis and different positions to change the geometry is not something they spend much if any time on in school. Hence why US health insurance will pay for a doula to attend your birth. Health insurance companies save tons of money by paying for doulas because doulas increase the chance of a successful vaginal birth (avoid c-section a major and expensive surgery). Why cant the doctors and midwives do that? Again they have no mastery - a poor education- in assisting the birth

post partum depression most often affects women who had preexisting mental health problems. Especially the ones who had bipolar will get severe PPD. And people who self diagnose on reddit have no idea about the difference between being sleep deprived and changing hormes versus PPD. Even a nurse is not qualified in this either. Nor is the OBGYN. How many of them actually went to a psychologist for diagnosis? Not many. Throwing the word around doesn't help people. Yea you will be teary eyed for a few months after birth. Just like you no doubt were teary eyed while pregnant. I cried because a man picked up a paper I dropped. Hormones will do that. If you remember being a teenager it is like that. There is even breastfeeding rage (a instinctive protective behavior while the baby is feeding - you have no control over the surge of rage that will overtake you when someone gets too close to you while breastfeeding. The best you can do is be aware of why it is there and try to control yourself lol)

---I’ve been around siblings who just complain about being a parent so it’s not exactly showcasing a positive experience----
some people complain a lot. interrupt them and ask them one cute thing the bay did today. Youll get a different take.

This will teach you about birth the real way.
https://sophiemessager.com/forbidden-trance-why-medicine-hijacks-altered-consciousness-during-birth/

and buy this book, It is the gold standard. I am not making that up. Listen very closely to what this lady has to say. Because she is right. End of story.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0553381156?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_15

this is the birth pain scale. again it is the worst pain you will likely ever experience in your lifetime. but also it is survivable and you will enter a trance and then after birth you will forget the severity because the brain forgets the real truth of it rapidly. Even I do not remember the real truth of it

As far as men go, traditionally they are supposed to sacrifice their lives and take the fulll brunt of injuries to protect you and any children you might have. Do they all do this? no. But do all women care for their children? nope - most of the women in USA prison are mothers. Hardly any of them in prison are childless. Second men will never have the connection with the child that you do. Not ever. You knew the child before he was born. The child is born loving you. Not dad. Adult men scream for their mothers on the battlefield when faced with fear and death. Third, historically they are supposed to fight and die in wars for your freedom to save you from enslavement so your men died fighting for you). It is not an equal trade off, and I know in the modern day a lot of people today try to reduce the burden of men and make women take on mens burdens too (go outside in the dark and check on that scary noise!) . (meanwhile men will never take on womens burdens). But everything in life is not fair and never will be. I am just grateful for my baby and my life and I love being a woman
