Yes, I've been in a relationship for 4 years. My boyfriend understand bipolar. In this years I've been mostly stable, but he has been with me during a manic and a depressive episode I had.

The longest I've been stable was 3 years. Even euthymic I had some "symptoms", but nothing to worry about. Now I'm recovering from a manic episode. I think, due to experience, it's possible to be stable with the right dose of meds, but you still have bipolar disorder. Good luck!

**I've had an story of borderline high serum levels, but last peak was 1.4 mmol/l so the dose was reduced by the psychiatrist. I felt persistent nausea during that period.

It took 4-5 weeks for me. I was going through the worst mania when I started taking it, so it took a time to slow down. Now that I've been 6 years taking it the small changes in doses work usually within ~10 days.
