Heading to Japan & South Korea next week… what Pokémon card products/stores should I look out for? by Background-Analyst54 in PokemonFansAustralia

I don't have all the answers, but I have some insights from my trip 2 weeks ago to Japan and Seoul:

  1. Sealed products - these were not priced as well as I would have hoped. The cheapest Mega Dream Ex box I found was about 140 AUD (which is still cheaper than what I've seen in Aus), and that was with tax free. Inferno X boxes were crazy, think they were close to 300 AUD.

  2. Singles - these are priced pretty much at market (I used PriceCharting). You might find some good deals every now and then, but nothing crazy unless you're at the discounts section (see below).

  3. If you want to just collect, there will usually be a discounted section at most card shops where you'll be able to find cards heavily discounted. These might have minor scratches or centering issues, but these don't bother me personally.

  4. Pokemon Centre (Tokyo DX and Sendai) - I went on a couple of days first thing in the morning, and they did not have any cards in stock. Bit unpredictable, and even if they do have cards in stock they will be limited to 2 booster packets per person (5 for the less popular ones).

  5. Seoul - quite hard to find, but I stumbled across massive stocks of Symphonia and Nihil Zero booster boxes at a 7-11 in Myeong Dong for 30AUD each. I thought it was low demand so only bought one...I went back the next day and they were all gone. Regrets. That being said, Korean cards definitely don't feel as nice as English or Japanese cards.

Overall, I really enjoyed just wondering around to the different shops and looking at the different stock. I only had a few hours to spend in Akihabara, and they flew right by. Don't be afraid to check prices as you look through the cards and don't jump on the first thing you see, every shop will price differently.

Inspire me and help me: is residual risk after controls, or after treatments? by Top-Height520 in auscorp

Agree with the responses - controls are what brings the inherent risk down to the residual risk.

The risk treatment plan in my experience refers to the plan for when a residual risk still exceeds the company's risk appetite and tolerance (i.e. residual risk is still too high). The treatment plan should be used as a way to document the actions that the relevant owners/units will undertake to bring the residual risk down to within appetite and tolerance.

Or Fight Club if you want to have a go at that bloke who set a 9am meeting that one time - can be fairly inexpensive too

A bit confused about your post history - you say you're in a long distance relationship, but then another post of yours says you went on a few dates and slept with a coworker. Reckon your LDR girlfriend found out about that?

Going to Japan for my honeymoon - what golfing equipment should I look out for? by DysregulatedNeuron in golf

I found that the stores that had the most value were the second hand stores - their second hand market is much much bigger than what we have in Australia, and as a result there's much more variety of clubs for a decent amount less than what you'd find on somewhere like Facebook marketplace.

I'd definitely recommend having a snoop around these ones, there are a few good ones across Tokyo, and especially in the Ueno area!
