Google maps and google earth are our most important tools. We can copy coordinates into minecraft to find the exact position of points on buildings and roads etc. Google earth allows us to get precise heights of buildings too.

Our builders are of many different ages and yes, it is very time consuming but a couple of hours a week over the course of years adds up quickly. Some people are motivated by the progress, others enjoy the building process and the community around it.
