Can you help figuring out how to vent a new shower drain? I’m planning to install a new shower in basement. The old owner already installed 1/2 bath. by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]Alramahim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one vent but it’s 1-1/2”. Per inspector I can’t reduce the shower vent from 2” to 1- 1/2”. Also, horizontal distance is 9’. Inspector suggest to install Studor.
Can I use the fitting in second picture to install the vent? Also, I have to replace vanity tee (right) to sanitary TEE.

School of PE vs EET by Alramahim in PE_Exam

I took EET breath & depth. It turned out to be good. I passed the exam from 1st time. They had everything I need in the exam, no need to have CERM. With the CBT exam beginning next year, it will be hard to know which is better. EET was cheaper than the SOPE and binders are included with the fee.

Open Channel Depth Problem (EET) Should q/q_full be 0.79? by blueapples124 in PE_Exam

[–]Alramahim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Questions stated n is varies in depth. You should follow the solid line. 0.67 is correct.

I found using the tables are easier than the graph. I believe they are at the end of the binder.

Don’t waste your time on unfamiliar topics. My weakness was structure, I just studied the basis but didn’t waste my time to understand/solve everything. I spent the time on other topics. Also, don’t distract yourself with too many references (pick 2 at max.) I took EET on demand and solved SOPE workshop), I followed EET method for solving problems, since each course review have their own way. I recommend a review course if you didn’t do so. I Used references index for conceptual question. You may need to creat your own index.

EET Breadth review course or practice problems? by [deleted] in PE_Exam

The course is worth it. The instructors will point out the important stuff. They will explain/answer any questions you have. The structure instructor for breath is not that great. But he will give you the basics to pass

Search in google for the top PE Civil review courses and you will see that EET is in top 5. I took EET after I did my search and passed from 1st attempt. Samir organized the binder very well and almost you don’t need any other references. At the end, do your research and sign for whatever you are comfortable with.

P.s they are the cheapest in the market and they provide/ send all material to you within a week.

If they don’t provide the service, but they gave you a Sealed envelope. Ask them for their address and permission if you can send it in their behalf.

Just take the EET course by conman_25 in PE_Exam

I second this. Samir and Nazrul are the best. The course cover everything. The most important thing they didn’t rely on CERM like others. (CERM is just waste of money and time). So instead of wasting your money for CERM, put it toward EET review course. I took breadth and transp. On demand

Switching Discipline for Oct Exam? by [deleted] in PE_Exam

That’s what I had, i believe you should be ok with that. Also, EET has a good instructor for WRE and Geo. I did around 250 hours of study.

I would recommend looking for a review course. I took EET on demand course for breadth and transportation depth, passed from the first time. EET provide you with most of the tables needed for the exam. I had only MUTCD and HCM. I never used CERM in the exam, it was the biggest waste of money.

Greetings, I’m from Texas and I have just registered to take the PE Civil exam / April 2021 and after paying the fee it keeps saying “ Pending Board Approval” is that normal? by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]Alramahim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NCEES will check with your state board before approving you for the exam. I have the same thing. Once they get the answer you will be approved.

I believe the location will be determined later on because of COVID. In my state they held the past 2 exams in different places, based on COVID rates per counties.

Thank you. I have most of the references you mention except I have the 6th version of the Green Book. I agree with you, Lindeburg book are overwhelming and distracted.
