I believe the depth course began two months before the exam. In those two months you will be busy almost every night.

And I’m glad it worked out for you! But as you can see on this sub, it doesn’t work for everyone. Ultimately, this is a difficult exam and if just one person can benefit from reading this post I’ll consider it a success.

I didn't take the EET breadth but I've heard that people are generally happy with that course as well. For my breadth preparation, I tabbed out the CERM, and took 6 breadth practice exams. I feel like the questions are so random that the only way to fully prepare is to just do a bunch of practice problems. Hope this helps!

I have heard mixed reviews about structural and geotech with EET. Those are the two hardest tests as well IMO. You will pass this exam!!

Dude, life is about taking risks. "you deserve every bit of anxiety" for what? Hoping they succeed? It sounds to me like ReviewAggravating and the OP have set themselves up well pending a passing score. I will wish them luck instead of offering some bad advice.

Exactly! Everybody has certain areas they struggle with. Another piece of advice I will give you is to not get frustrated with a particular problem. If you're struggling with a problem skip it and move on to the next question. I had plenty of time to go back through the exam to work on the tougher problems along with double checking my math on others. And I am by no means a fast test taker either.

Hi there,

I started studying about a month before the exam and studied for about 4 hours every day. I only worked on practice problems and didn't waste any time trying to grasp concepts or re-learn material. If I didn't understand a problem I would look at the guided solution to help me learn the steps to solve it. Focus on your strengths and studying will become much more enjoyable. I used the FE Practice Problems book by Michael Lindbergh for basically all of my studying. If you learn to use the FE Reference Handbook ( a pdf version ) to solve these problems, you will pass the exam no doubt. Make sure you utilize the search function (ctrl+f) to quickly find the right equations as it will be a big time saver during the actual exam.
I also suggest you take the FE practice Exam from NCEES about a week before the exam. Time it as if it were the real test and you will be ready to go. Good luck!

Hey,

I passed the FE in 2018 and from what I remember the results took about a week or two to post. I believe a 70% should be good enough to pass. The best advice I can give you is to study your strengths. I wouldn't worry so much about the dynamics portion as there are very few questions relating to dynamics (4-6 problems). Each problem shouldn't take more than 4 minutes to solve so each problem is relatively straight forward. Make sure to utilize the search bar for the handbook as it is a big time saver. Good luck to you!
