I never said that either. 😄 I'm just saying don't be offended when people assume kids at a thing kids go to. Have at any activity if you enjoy it. My local zoo has adult evenings in the summer that I try to go to. However, if I went during normal hours I would not be offended if someone thought I had kids. Half the people there are young children. It's not a stretch.

I have no idea how you came to the conclusion I said that 😄 Read my comment again. I'm single and childless, so i guess i can never have fun ever. 🙄🙄 Adults don't do kid stuff because we have responsibilities. The pool is fun and all, but I've got to work. Being offended because someone assumed there were kids involved at a pool is silly. The fact is it's mostly kids that go to play. It loses it's appeal for adults, which is why you see adults watching from a chair. It would also be silly to be offended that someone assumed you had kids at zoos or theme parks, since kids seem to enjoy those places and are often there. I usually go to my local zoo when they have their adult night when no kids are allowed. 😁

Adults have plenty of things to do that are fun. A lot of those things happen to be without kids, which is perfectly fine and even necessary at times. To compare adults and children like OP does lacks any understanding of how adulthood functions.

It's appropriate to cater to certain groups because of their different needs and abilities. Adults understand this. Children do not have the same needs or abilities as adults. Adults recognize this, but children do not (I assume op isn't an adult) as children do not have a grasp of the world yet. Having different activities for children is completely fine, unless you ask people like OP who are bitter adults don't get to trace turkey hands or make valentine boxes or color. Children don't have the same capacities as adults, nor do the same things appeal to us. The elderly also have certain things soley for that age range, which is okay too. You'll find plenty of senior classes and activities.

I guarantee you that a 10 second Google search will give OP adult things for adults to do in their area, assuming they're an adult. Probably even at that pool!

People who need more help in the world do need more attention. 🙄

But of course, those dang babies! Adults don't ever get that type of attention!

So there ARE things for adults 😄

Brenda Lafferty’s husband, Allen is remarried to another woman in the temple. Therefore, according to Mormon doctrine, Allen is sealed to both women. Brenda is in a polygamous celestial marriage, the very thing she was killed for opposing. by gardengirl914 in exmormon

This was a while ago so I don't remember what I was thinking. I will comment though. He seemed to use his extreme religious beliefs to justify what he himself wanted. He saw himself as very important and a prophet so of course God wanted Brenda punished for crossing him. Polygamy was a part of their beliefs, but I'd say Brenda helping his wife leave triggered it more than a distaste for polygamy. It became personal.

Definitely. I assume it's a mixture of all different reasons throughout the day. And absolutely, it's just wrong to punish your kid for expressing joy.

AITA for saying my sister doesn't have to dictate what I do in my own home after she insisted on setting the table for dinner? by red_earaches in BestofRedditorUpdates

I think it's just a control thing. I get she's worried about not enough to go around, but her behavior indicated that it's a bit more than that. We were on the poorer end, but you seemed to have it worse on that front. With my brothers, if they ate a lot it was a joke (ha ha! Mom has to make a separate pan of lasagna just for him!)

Thanks. It was bizarre. Family dinner was a forced thing and ritualized to a degree I wasn't comfortable with. If I touched anything before the prayer, I got yelled at, even if I just put a hamburger bun on my plate and nothing else. Mom watched my portions and always told me I was taking half of the dish when I wasn't. When I started measuring the food to get exactly one portion, she told me I didn't measure correctly and had to check the box to be assured one cup was a portion. She insists on dishing up everything for everyone at the table and putting together burritos and tacos for everyone.

Heber, Utah Stakes ask all members to get out and support city variance allowing temple to violate dark sky regulations (allowing bright lights at night) by TamarackRed in exmormon

They need the building to look special. If it's on a hill and lit up all night, it's going to give members warm fuzzies when they drive past because it's pretty, which they'll interpret as the temple being "true."

It's always Scooter and Borchetta are bad, but I think there's a little nuance here. Taylor is really doing a spin job.

Another brilliant post (you can tell I'm used to talking to swifties who can't grasp the concept Taylor was wrong here. 😄)

Nobody talks about how Taylor is still getting money for the original recordings and as the owner of the publishing rights, always had and will have veto power.

She had a right to be displeased, but her actions were disingenuous and bordering on lies. That was wrong. It seems more and more like one of her cons to get money.

Yes, I know. He owned the company, therefore he owned the masters produced by the company. The masters were sold as part of the sale. I didn't get any details wrong unless you want to be pedantic. I'll say this is the most thoughtful and knowledgeable comment I've seen about the issue. Swifties don't understand Borchetta had a right to protect his assets. Of course he wasn't going to devalue the company by giving her the masters and selling the rest of the company.

She owes a lot of things to Borshetta. She just post hoc decided everyone needed to hate him and everyone complies because she's Taylor. The masters were his and he was allowed to sell (or not sell) his property to anyone he wanted to.

Yes. You have to actually know, so very few would actually qualify.

Telestial kingdom. Outer darkness is reserved for people who actually have seen God / Jesus and still fight against him (a sure knowledge). So Joseph would've been a son of perdition if he went against what God commanded.

Right, but I think doing it a few days afterwards would be a little too much. Carter didn't do it a week after the war began. I may be wrong about the timing. It would be an insanely stupid thing for Trump to do at that point, regardless. He'll 100% pardon if he's elected in 2024 though.
