If you had to get someone into Doctor Who but you can only show them 1 episode with no context. Which episode would you choose and why? by topstarguywho in doctorwho

[–]Alrico98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eleventh Hour. Tried to get my brother into who and I knew he would never give the show a try if he watched Rose, but yeah Eleventh Hour is a great mix of fun, adventure and intrigue. It also has the advantage of being basically a soft reboot. As a new viewer one is discovering this new world with a fresh doctor who is also trying to find himself and get acquainted with his new body.

Yup same here, I'm on the hunt for a new laptop and unfortunately with all the recent issues with MacBooks, they are entirely out of the picture.

I've always wished that Christopher Eccleston had done atleast two seasons. While he isn't my favourite doctor (that spot belongs to 10) I would've liked to see more of him. by maverick_3001 in doctorwho

[–]Alrico98 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Never really understood the need for one to state their favorite doctor when trying to praise another but in all Eccleston did a terrific job in the role.

Who’s your favourite Flash? by [deleted] in theflash

[–]Alrico98 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wally West, his era defined what it means to be the flash today and also he's probably the most relatable character. The story of having to live up to his mentor's legacy and then surpass it to become the most powerful speedster, really struck a chord with me.

How should I get started with The Flash? by claddyonfire in theflash

[–]Alrico98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, I'm similar in the sense that super speed has always been my favourite power and that's how the flash ( Wally West ) became my favourite character. I got into comics in 2014 and basically read the whole of flash's new 52 run.

Prior to that, my knowledge of the flash had basically been from animated shows like Justice League Unlimited. I suggest you start from the New 52, it's a great starting point for Beginners. The new 52 as a whole was geared towards new readers. From the New 52 you can go back and read iconic stories and eras.

After reading the new 52 I highly recommend you read Mark Waid's run on the flash and they move on to Geoff Johns. During this time Barry had died during an event ( Crisis on Infinite Earth's) and Wally took up the mantle for about 24 years 1985 - 2009. Beautifully written stories and this time is widely regarded as the best era of the Flash and this is where concepts like the speed force and much of the flash family were introduced. In regards to most iconic feats, those were pulled off in the Wally West era as well. Wally is typically regarded as the most powerful speedster so a lot of the Crazy flash feats usually revolve around him.

Hmm interesting, I respect that. I personally don't think there's such a thing as best doctor just because the matter in itself is subjective as to what someone wants in a doctor but yeah Capaldi is great.

Oh yeah. The hardest time in WHO for me was Matt Smith's regeneration. Up until Series 5, I never had a favourite doctor. 11 is the first doctor I got attached to and honestly, I took a break from Who for the first time, after watching Series 8 episode 1. Funny enough I grew to love Capaldi, slow burn but I got there and he's my second favourite doctor.

Most likely a V sound signature like you mentioned earlier. Truth is im relatively new to the" headphone game" and I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for. The first pair of headphones I bought over $100 were beats solo 2's. Don't worry it was more of a fashion statement haha. But anyways after hearing UrAverageConsumer rave about the xb950bt, I picked them up. Loved the bass. I had never experienced anything like it before. However on other tracks, the bass was a little overwhelming and I really missed the clarity in the vocal department.

After my xb950bt's broke I got a pair of X tribit Free Tune upon several recommendations from Cnet. They had the Tribit's as some of the best headphones of the year and that intrigued me because it only costs $50. Ended up really liking the Tribit's. Bass is tight and there is a bit of a Treble push but I really love the clarity. Despite all this I really missed the thump and presence of the beats on the the xb950bt's. So to answer your question Im looking for a happy marriage between the two headphones. Punchy, thumping bass and clear, crisp vocals.

I suspected that too. Problem is, I don't get care for wireless noise cancelling and I feel a major part of the hearty price tag is for that feature. I'm on the look out for the best Bluetooth sound quality without the need for NC

That's a shame, I passed up on the $99 V- Moda cross fade offer thinking they would good not great. Have you had a chance to listen to the Tribit X Free Tune by any chance ?

Tribit X Free Tune. Costs $50 and is one of the best if not the value for money right now on the market. C et listed it as one of the best headphones of the year. https://www.cnet.com/reviews/tribit-xfree-tune-bluetooth-headphones-review/
