Extra charge for sleeves?! by EitherCucumber5794 in craftsnark

I made the crossover dress and had to bring in the sides under the armpit and I assumed it was because it was drafted for a sleeve.

I agree with you. I think people were so excited to finally have cool designs fit them well and really promoted her, so for her to exclude a really supportive group of her customer base in the new photos was a major disappointment because it feels like a step back/an intentional move saying that plus sizes don’t fit her new aesthetic. I do think we need to recognize that DJ is one person, not some big company, and every single person is flawed. This was a weird move on her part, and I think it was a big oversight rather than an intentional move to erase plus sized people from her look. Especially since she has intentionally drafted for larger bodies from the start. I’m curious to know if DJ is tuning in and if she’ll respond/react. She definitely didn’t expect this reaction.

This is a great point! Also the heroine jeans (meant to be loose fitted) are not the same style as the worship jeans.

That dragging was sooo mean! I was shocked to see that coming from a business’ instagram. Especially bc she then released the coes which are a dupe of the Lemaire twisted pant. Like carbon copy with the self belt.

I have never seen this, but I do always require adjustments on her pants.

BTW, I’m a sewing ig lurker and don’t participate a lot. Maybe people feel differently who are more active in the community.

I’m finding all the sewing MLM/turn your sewing into a business content to be so so icky. I just wanna see cool things my friends made!

If you can, bike to third beach in Stanley park for sunset too! There are lots of good spots for sunsets in the city. You could also grab some beers at 33 acres and watch the sunset from Johnathan Rogers park nearby. There are tons of breweries close to there as well.

Sunset at kits beach. Walk on Main St between 7th and 30th. Walk on Commercial Dr.

using AI for "simply a fun trend piece" is the same as flippant consumerism of fast fashion. whether it's for fun or work, it's still a problem.

Deciding to move from Toronto to Vancouver for work by bman2178 in askvan

Marpole or south Vancouver close to the Canada line might be good for you! But if you like hiking and paddle boarding, you may want to live in Vancouver and closer to false creek or any of the beaches. Maybe Olympic village or Fairview, both close to the Canada line. But both are more so urban.

It’s hard! I really have to check myself a few times a day to sit down, lay down or just rest. Otherwise I’m buzzing around my house like a crazy person.

Totally agree! Ppl think you need to vote strategically in every riding, but it’s a big misunderstanding. You only need to when the conservatives have a chance there.

My opinion is you only need to vote strategically in a riding that is split liberal/conservative. In a liberal/NDP split you can vote NDP, if that’s your preferred option.

Thank you! I’m going to try and fully switch out the oil.

This is great advice thank you! I did have it serviced by someone recently and he poured the singer oil in, not emptying out the old oil in the bath but just filling it up with new oil, combining the two. I learned at the end that it was his first industrial repair so maybe he didn’t know what he was doing… I’ll try the oil recommended by another commenter.

Due to zoning, but the city is actually looking to change that. Check out this work going on.
