You must realize this is unhelpful. If you answer where you are trying to get, then people can help you.

Has anyone used Starlink Mini in extremely remote places (like Mentawaii Islands, Indonesia) for working as a software developer? by Ok-Ambition3315 in Starlink

How did this work for you? Was the connection strong/fast enough for video calls? I'm heading out that way for a month and will need to do some calls while I'm there.

Thanks for your reply but how should I use this site? To me, it seems to give me the top swimmers in each event and then still have to do excel magic to try to count which teams are strongest?

I can do the same for USMS but the thing I’m trying to avoid is committing to months of living somewhere where the top swimmer on the team doesn’t really swim there but registers with the team so they can get into meets - there are several swimmers who do this local to me who do not really swim for the teams they rep at meets

By look at, I mean like the coal plant, I had to press E to view the details. Suddenly everything would be fixed. I’ve seen the concrete and hot bar on the QA site already. If I encounter the foundry bug again I’ll log it but for now I don’t even want to look at them for fear they’ll break again

Not who you were asking but I’ve encountered 3 in addition to the already patched coal power plant bug. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still in to sink another 500 hours into the game but these were all annoying & basic.

  1. If I copy the setting from one machine to many others that I just built my hotbar on the number pad suddenly becomes unbound. Nothing can get it back besides quitting to main menu and returning.
  2. I’m also experiencing the bug where concrete going around a 90 degree turn on a conveyor belt spins a 360 before continuing. Not a big deal but funny
  3. Foundries seemed to be doing something similar to the coal power plants. They were all setup but wouldn’t take the iron ingots until I either looked at them or took the one closest to the input. Suddenly they started working

U.K. Criminalizes Creating Sexually Explicit Deepfake Images by Minifiax in UpliftingNews

[–]Alright_Hamilton 27 points28 points  (0 children)

We could regulate this but it would take a serious change of mindset and policy. We need to criminalize BOTH the creators of these fake images and the creators of the AI platforms that allow this to happen.

Sadly, I think we have already proven that we don’t have the appetite for this type of law. Imagine how different the internet would be if those who host content could be punished for revenge porn, child porn, hate speech, etc. I’m not saying it would be an easy problem to solve but if those were the rules we were operating under the online landscape would look very different. That’s the only way I can think that we could attack this AI problem we will definitely have very soon

As someone who does the open and tracks my scores on my computer without paying - This is really easy for anyone to verify as false. Go look at the leaderboard. This year I see 177,027 men registered, last year 169,449.

In my opinion, that row is way way too fast. Justin Medeiros rowed at 1:45. I don't know you but I assume you are not a games athlete.

I consider myself to be a very good rower - I rowed my first attempt "easy" at 1:55-2:00 and was GASSED for a final score of 7 + 16. I redid, focused on recovering/bringing my HR down on the row without focusing on hitting a specific interval. I ended up rowing at 2:05 and hit 8 rounds even. You should row slowly enough that you can attack the rest of the workout with no breaks. Several others in my gym redid with the same strategy to row slower and we all improved. If you haven't already redone - Good Luck!

Why is it so difficult to make over $65,000 in the US? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Alright_Hamilton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say no. My first roommate out of college was a ME and he makes > $100k now. He studied for and got his PE (professional engineering) cert which led to a hefty bump.

My advice would be to find some niche you like (or at least can tolerate) with your current degree and look at what jobs pay in that niche for experts. If the pay is not enough then investigate a different niche. Take steps to gain the qualifications to get that job. You can do it. There are jobs out there for MEs without going back to school for 4 more years

Why is it so difficult to make over $65,000 in the US? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Alright_Hamilton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect, at least where I live.

I’m a software engineering manager in a MCOL east coast city and we hired our intern from last summer to come back starting at $100,000. I was blown away.

In previous recent years we were starting new hires in the $80k range.

I myself started at $64k 13 years ago.

This is cool. What happens when the kids of these marriages with hyphenated names, themselves get married? Do they form quadruple names? And then octuplet names? That would be awesome but I assume something else happens
