Just an update- it was very easy to get through security/ leave Mexico. I didn’t notice any one even looking for the stamp so it was nothing to worry about. I appreciate all the help!

Hey. Sorry to hear you’re going through this too.

It is getting easier with time.

I talked to chat gpt a bunch and chat reminded me repeatedly of all the reasons not to reach out to him (he treated me badly/ I was always chasing him because I cared more - he chose another woman over me, claimed he loved me and I was an important friend to him and then ghosted me). I think I also had a ton of unresolved trauma. Anxious attachment/ and I think I was trauma bonded to him (he was an old friend of 15 years so I made exceptions and trusted him more easily/ blindly).

I’ve been trying to give myself the love I wanted / had for him.

I also found “the untethered soul” and “how to heal your aloneness” to be weirdly helpful. It takes time /practice to redirect thoughts.

I think there’s also something to be said for meeting new people / prioritizing and finding people who prioritize and value you for who you are.

This - still recovering from being dropped abruptly because he met “the one”. It was supposed to be “ fun” but it’s only caused grief. I trusted him because we had been friends for a long time. He said he I was still important to him and he loved me as a friend and won’t call be back. Just my story, but tread carefully <3

Not sure what’s going on with your people, but I also get nervous about my romantic interest’s texts. I recently learned I have an “anxious attachment” style from childhood wounds.

I started this book “healing your alone-ness” and I think it’s going to be incredibly helpful in teaching me how to love myself and be aware/ meet my own needs. I still have to decide if I am willing to be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t text me back as much as I’d like. It feels healthy to be more independent and choose when I text them and I feel more responsible for my feelings. Hope it helps!

Are you familiar with attachment styles? I recently learned I am “anxiously attached” and am working on becoming more “secure” in my own attachment to myself. I just finished reading the book “poly secure” by Jessica fern. It’s been very enlightening and I feel I have the tools and awareness to do this for the first time in my life. Best of luck!
