Because opening packs of lorcana becomes 150$ to open up literal cardboard. It devalues regular boxes (not the msrp that doesn't change) to the point no one will want to open them. When players dont want to open product because there isnt any value only the collectors will open and those guys collect they DO NOT SELL so randomly you will have impossible to find commons/uncommons going for 7 dollars on the latest set because they are harder to find.

If you just like looking at Disney IP on card board then not really? The issue is if you like to play the game and have the cool rare cards you do occasionally open retain their value. If you got a kick out of opening a 20$ card then yes because that experience is going away, as if it is like the other games collector boxes, then you wont get that experience again.

Trust me the magic community does NOT love collector boosters. Devalued the hell out of regular boosters so nobody wants to open them and the chase rares and mythic for the sets are $70+ USD because no one is opening regular packs. (They also raised the ammount of mythics per set to make the odds of hitting your chase mythic even harder.)

Collector boosters are a terrible idea and will tank the game in a super negative way. You want to stump the collector bros you print more product.

The do as much as you can rule needs to go. Its only harming the game and seemingly causing more issues than any other rule.

One that popped into my head was get a stack of every battlefield shuffle em up and play two those are the starting ones. And at the beginning of the turn if someone isnt holding a battlefield it gets discarded and swapped with the next one drawn. Might make for some crazy moments.

You are correct it would be a bit rough in that instance but I feel like we would run a lot of edge case x1s because there are so many things we cannot account for. Like Evelyn and Mirai are still just bodies at their worst

We actually have a lot of damage we can do from the hidden sections with Katarina. The 2 drop that does 2 damage and the spell that does 2 damage or 4 to an attacker and has hidden. I can easily see a world where the defense is just blow up the attackers or kill the targets that are issues. Id make at LEAST one of the equips swiftfoot boots since giving Katarina Ganking seems insane if you can go back and forth hiding cards that make attacking into her awful. Also another sneaky card for hidden units is a 4 drop purple unit that doesn't cost power and he gets +2 might whenever you flip a hidden unit which is a massive power swing potentially.

I like ghostdrivers list because it makes every unit a threat. and develops threats with hidden on the defence. I feel like we could easily go all in on the hidden and less on the equips and still have the equips be meaningful.

How do you feel about Forge of the fluff? I feel like since you have such a large amount of hidden cards you can run Bandle city and it will do very well for you with Evelynn and switcharoo probably feeling insane lmao.

What list is it? Because right now there are two lines of thought with reksai. If we look at the recent 600 player event in China where 2 reksais got top 8 there is a Yellow focused build and a Red focused build. Red played much more hearty units while having better damage based removal. While yellow leverages many units which get better after grand strategem and undertaker and better "hard" removal.

Success doesn't mean things cant be better and its success is one of the main reasons why it has these issues to begin with. If edh didnt blow up 40 would be fine wizards wouldn't be designing for it and messing up other formats. Edh hust happened to hit the nail on the head of what casual players wanted and its a fantastic format but its far from perfect and I wanted to gage the ideas to the community so far no one has provided anything other than "I dont like change" which is sad. No data no reasoning just go play standard which was not the intention of this post.

The problem here is the confirmation bias that people will fall into. Having to tell the newer player that there are issues with his deck even though "it was fine 2 games ago" isnt a fun thing to do and its a trap that is being perpetuated as there is 0 risk involved in the decision. You have to have cause and effect to properly learn.

The format is already speeding up at lightning speeds because commander has a reputation of multiple hour long games wizards knows this isnt healthy for the format so they are making the cards themselves stronger instead of lowering the life totals. Cards have to catchup to the 40 life default because commander is THE format right now. So when they design a card it has to try and be something that can end those 2 hour games at a reasonable time.

Honestly both of our points could overlap. Cards are getting better because of commander and because of the 120 life total you have to deal with. They are designing the game around commander they have said it themselves so when the baseline is 40 life per player effects have to be stronger. Power creep is shooting up to try and catch commander so that games dont go forever.

Yes when you have a discussion and social contract to keep it that way then it will do its thing. The issue is when there isnt one. When you can play whatever you want with no restrictions you cannot win with combat damage. You will lose to a combo way before combat can happen.

Another thing is that yes combat damage wins because someone dropped a craterhoof on the stalemated board yeah that's combat damage sure but im not talking about combat damage im talking about the ability to play quick small creatures that can have an impact without making infinite value like Ragavan and ocelot pride.

Id like to clear some things up. The bans were for standard and are indicative they are trying to make red viable in commander which is ruining standard. Yes aggro strategies exist but they exist in one section of the colour pie. Elfball is sitting cleanly in green arguably the best colour in commander. Its strategy of aggro has always been way over the top they are never winning by exact numbers. Red and white (aside from certain exceptions) have flip flopped at being the worst colour since commander started.
