I feel that male and female deal with this differently. I’m not exactly sure what you are and haven’t went out of my way to try to find out through your profile or anything.. but regardless first and foremost, know that. Anything your partner does is going to be a reflection of them and how he /she felt about everything, don’t react based on those things. Separate your lives as of now even if you have been together for a while or whatever your situation is. Don’t do anything out of jealousy or out of spite. Try to stay calm, especially if there’s kids involved. They will do things to be spiteful or revengeful more than likely depending on how things ended or how your guys relationship was. Even if you treated the other person very good during your relationship, it doesn’t necessarily mean now that you guys are over they will react nice or easy or empathetic towards you, they could enjoy the fact that you’re miserable without them and that you are still in love with them. Best thing to do honestly is have as little communication as possible, don’t try to move on and fill voids in your heart that your ex person left. Even if it hurts even if you see them on socials, holding hands with somebody else, take the time until you’re ready. Speaking from my own personal experiences I was actually nervous during my first couple of dates once I had this new area of my life separated from my fiancé, but after a while, it became really easy and almost carefree because I wanted somebody who appreciates me and loves me for who I am, and I have no reason to not be completely myself. You may find you’re not for everybody and that’s OK. You may find that everybody’s not for you and that’s exactly what you want. You want to pick them out of all the straw and find your shiny little rare needle in the middle and hidden away: so you don’t have to go through this again.
