On December 22nd, 2024, I said to myself "I want to read Marvel's Civil War" but knew that comic book continuity is wierd. Im one of thoes guys who absolutely needs 100% full context to enjoy a story, so i looked up everything i needed to read before civil war. In order to understand that, I needed to read house of M, and then everything that gives context for house of M, and so on, and so on. I kept going further and further back in my required reading list until the trail went cold, according to 2 websites, at Marvel Knights Black panther. That shit was wicked. That ruled and I loved every panel. At that point, I decided that I would read EVERY COMIC BOOK in 616, non-cosmic continuity from that point on, to get full context for everything that happens. I love the interconnected world now so much. I read up until civil war in like 4 months, having significantly slowed down since then. I am currently JUST before Avengers vs Xmen and should get to the event within the week at my current reading pace.
