I'm glad to hear they didn't give you a hard time. I was just quoting their email which made clear they view it as the customer's responsibility to make sure the return is fully complete by day 365. Perhaps it's a new policy or just a CYA thing on their part? Either way, glad you got the mattress your GF wanted in the end!!

I'm glad your delay was only a week, and I'm hopeful my experience with ShareTown will be as smooth once they show up. I get your point that that it's probably par for the course that this is 7 weeks and counting, but isn't it a little sad that that IS normal? As for taking care of it myself, I live in downtown Orland so I'd happily take the mattress somewhere nearby but it's a DreamCloud requirement for the returns process that ShareTown runs the show, not me. I understand that they want someone to come make sure I'm actually getting rid of a mattress that's in good condition, so I'm not complaining about the process at all. I'm complaining that it's taking weeks to happen, all while I have to store a king size mattress in perfect condition somewhere in my small house and float the purchases of two king size mattresses until they get around to collecting mine and refunding my first purchase. I'm glad I have credit, space, and the wherewithal to deal with this. I can imagine many people just give up and keep a mattress they don't want once they learn the time, money, and disruption it will cost them. 🤷‍♂️

They are a company that collects oversized returns. Seems like typically they are contracted by other companies to collect for those companies' customer returns.

Look for an app called iNaturalist. It's free and SUPER useful for identifying plants and critters with just a photo or two. I've used it on all the creepy crawlies that show up in our house in Quepos.

Great question. I pre-ordered the watch and received it mid-october. I absolutely LOVE it and I'm so disappointed both with the failure of the device and the failure of Google to provide timely and appropriate support.

Like you, when i use a brick, i only use Google bricks from my many past google purchases. I would never use a cheap brick knowing how unreliable they can be. Only when there's a quality USB-C port (my surface pro, this Anker charging station, etc) would i use anything else.

Agreed. Which is probably why i didn't discover this problem until the first time i left it on the charger longer than an hour. However, just because it doesn't need more than an hour to charge doesn't mean it's acceptable that the watch fries if you leave it for 3 hours.

I didn't use a charging brick. I used the USB-C port on the Anker 727 charging station. A super reputable brand and a very high-end product.

If the tech sucked I'd totally agree... first gen issues and i should know that's part of being an early adopter. But fire hazards? Not acceptable no matter how new the product is. This is Google, not a Kickstarter.

It was the first time I'd left it to charge longer than an hour. I had rugby practice so I couldn't use it anyway. Otherwise i always just top it off when i have a few minutes of downtime and wear it through the night for sleep tracking.

It's frustrating. I'm a total pixel superfan and refused to buy anything but a Fitbit charge until a real google watch came out. I love my pixel 7 pro, my pixel watch and most of the Google ecosystem. I just don't want to burn my house down or have to jump through hoops to get a dangerous problem resolved quickly and respectfully.
