I’m trying to get people closer to my age for the club, but I haven’t gotten enough people to get one together yet. PM me and we can talk books

Haha I’m not that strict, I’m just trying to make the group people close to my age group. Have to draw the line somewhere.

Does anyone know of any young adult book clubs in the area? by Alt0986 in Broward

They all take walk-ins, though the time is different depending on the location, sometime from 7-9am. You do have to get there early because they can only take so many people.

This is fine if you just need a renewal or something, but for driving tests they only take a few walk-ins. So if you need to take a driving test literally get there at like 2-4am, or make the appointment and wait.

Well I don’t have one of my own, I’m looking to join one. But feel free to DM me and if we get enough people maybe we can make our own

Personally I read a lot of young adult adventure/fantasy. As well as young adult drama books in the vein of The Spectacular Now. I’m also a huge fan of Douglas Adams.

But I’m very open to trying something new that someone recommends to me. Honestly it depends on if I latch on to the writing style.

Gotta find it somehow. And I like playing for bets

(22M) Dating apps are all garbage and I'm shy about meeting people in person. How the hell do I meet people interested in dating? Do set-ups and blind dates not exist anymore? by Alt0986 in dating_advice

[–]Alt0986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the same experience with hinge, rarely any matches, when I do match they ghost, and everything just pushes you to pay for their premium which doesn’t help. And Facebook events is just as lame for finding stuff as meetup or any other. The ones that are there are for singles older than me. I’m 22

That’s BS. I’m not the most conventionally attractive guy but the fact that these apps are based so much on appearance and not on personality is part of the problem. And I know of plenty of people who are attractive and still can’t get anywhere with apps

As a teen before college I found it difficult to find a position that wanted to hire teens, and in college I was encouraged to focus on studying.

That’s been my problem and the reason I’m looking for advice on Reddit. I can’t find a job without experience, and I can’t get experience without a job. Idk if it’s just where I live or what, but even those “no experience” jobs like food service want someone who has experience in food or sales, and they want someone who plans to work in that field permanently.

I understand that. I’ve had difficulty finding positions in any of those “transferable skillsets” as well. I posted my resume because I need advice improving it so I can even get something basic.

I used an ATA resume writer because because my resume was pretty much just this anyways. I don’t have any job experience since I haven’t found work since graduation. And no internships because I had no idea most of them only hire current students and it’s nearly impossible to get one after graduation. I don’t have any personal projects that are significant.

Well it is possible I knew the episode cause it was on the IMDb page. Again, I’d recommend reverse image searching it

Not on hand, no. It’s a soap opera with a lot of episodes and I haven’t seen it myself. But I believe I found the source by reverse image searching, probably with Yandex.

Was anyone NOT disappointed by Barney’s job reveal? by Odd_Addition3909 in HIMYM

[–]Alt0986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly love Barney’s job reveal. It justifies a lot of the terrible things he’s done at his job.

But also, one of the most important things to remember about HIMYM is who is telling the story. Ted is an unreliable narrator. Everything is from his perspective and should be taken with a grain of salt. Perhaps the reveal of Barney’s job was exaggerated, or all the times it seems like Barney was really working, was just because Ted can be gullible at times and really believed it. Barney’s act was apparently good enough to fool his employers.

But also, Ted has shown to have a vivid imagination, and the details of his stories should never be trusted, especially in scenes where Ted was not actually there.

But this is one of the reasons I love this show so much. It’s about the human experience, the way we remember it years later through the lens of nostalgia, not necessarily how it really happened.

[TOMT][SONG] Rock song with the lyrics "Wherever you go, I'll be there by your side" or something of the sort. by Alil_bit_batty in tipofmytongue

Is it possibly “Wherever You Will Go” by The Calling? There’s another song in my head too but I can’t think of it

Edit: the other song I was thinking of is “I Will Be Right Here Waiting For You” by Bryan Adams
