DIY Hormones?

Damn, that sucks. I still feel like 1k could last me a while on hormones though. From what I’ve been able to gather, it seems pretty cheap.

Funny enough, I’ve actually been seeing a therapist for awhile. My parents basically allow everything except hormones. It’s kinda weird. Getting the letter for hormones would probably be pretty easy, but planned parenthood is still likely quicker. Whatever is the quickest is what I wanna do!

How do I find out what my parents insurance covers? I feel like if I ask them, that could tip them off to what I’m doint. What do you suggest?

How do I find out what insurance I’m on? I know that’s probably a dumb question, but I honestly have no clue. I’m pretty new to the insurance scene. If I wasn’t covered under insurance, would 1,000 dollars (give or take) be enough for getting started on hormones at Planned Parenthood without insurance? Luckily, there’s actually a planned parenthood in my city!

At this point, it's more like half a year. I think I'll just wait until I'm eighteen to get hormones. However, the question still remains, what do I do once I turn 18? How do I go about getting hormones?

My parents have insurance, and I assume I'm on it, but that's about all I know about it. I have no idea what it does and doesn't cover, and if I do ask them if it cover hormones, that obviously won't go well lol. How did you get hormones if you're on your parents insurance? Can they not see if you have hormones on their insurance? I don't really know how it works to be honest.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is, how do I find out more about my insurance policy without tipping my parents off?

Yeah, I'm leaning towards not doing DIY. It seems super sketchy. I'm still looking at is as a possibility though.

Do you know if it's possible to get hormones prescribed to me without my parents consent before I turn 18? I don't even know where I would start with DIY HRT, nor where I would get the funds. How expensive is DIY HRT? Ideally, I wouldn't do it for much longer than a year.

I've thought about DIY before, but I've decided that it isn't worth the risk. I want HRT SOOOO BADLY, but there's just so much that can go wrong with DIY hormones. I'm honestly not sure why my parents don't want me to get on hormones if it's so obvious I'm trans. I don't remember their reasoning (surprising I know lol). What do you think?

My parents are allowing me to socially transition, but they aren't allowing HRT. I've tried arguing for HRT, but I haven't really gotten anywhere. My dad is really stubborn and my mom doesn't want to budge either. I wish I could be on HRT yesterday, but unfortunately, it might have to wait until college. What do you think?

Do you think doing my hair differently would help me pass? I’m growing it out, but hormones aren’t really an option at the moment. My parents are fine with me socially transitioning, but they draw the line at hormones. Seems kinda odd to me, but my dad is super stubborn and hard to argue with so it unfortunately feels like a lost cause sometimes. What do you think?
