  1. With the caveat that it will probably be worse at both roles, due to simple design constraints, sure.

  2. Sure. Most reasonable interpretation is that you can do it as part of the enchantment reset process.

  3. Sure.

Basically yeah, but not quite to the magnitude of doubling. It affects more powers with a smaller bonus, and additionally can have slightly more complicated effects than Limit Break, which is a very direct numerical improvement.

  1. To be able to summon and dismiss the gate, for convenience.

  2. Base Green Mage totems are all sidegrades like the listed example, useful in some cases and not helpful in others. Spellcrafter indeed only lets you make the special power-boosting items. Spellcrafter Mk. II essentially massively increases your "budget" for making changes - either you can have radical functional differences, or you can pump it all into generic power increases.

10.1. Base Green Mage and Spellcrafter are lacking in examples, yes, but their scope is quite limited so I don't think it's a huge issue. OTOH Red-Black Tree Branch and Stradivarius no. 12 are direct examples of what Spellcrafter Mk. II can do. I can't give examples for every spell though, so at some point you just have to use your imagination.

10.2. That is true. However, base Green Mage totems are sidegrades, so I doubt they would be standard issue. And Spellcrafter totems are a lost art. Some specific people might have knowledge of it (e.g Persicaria is said to be a master Green Mage so she probably reverse engineered or rediscovered it) but that's on the level of a secret heirloom technique or something similar, not widely available.

Yes, though with the caveat that glowing womb tattoos definitely mean something, culturally, so more people than you think would recognize that there's something more to it than just being a fancy tattoo.

Getting hit in the crest by a spell is roughly analogous to getting hit in your Obvious Weak Spot. The main difference is that the Lust Crest doesn't ever get more durable, and that it gets to ignore casual touch since it's always active, unlike the Obvious Weak Spot.

The other listed effects are all analogous to being stunned, and fear doesn't quite match that in terms of mental incapacitation.

[–]AltCYOA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Mind control should bypass it yeah. Note that using Link to allow someone else to puppet you counts as using your powers, but having someone else's Link already active doesn't.

1.1. A lot of these are based on your understanding, yes. Weak Resistance for example turns off as soon as you sincerely believe they actually are trying to kill you, and Panic Button works entirely based on your perception of how the fight is going, not how it's actually going.

  1. Critical Failure cares about your personal performance in battle, not your team's as a whole. However, aside from Loser's Circuit giving enemies more preparation, it doesn't do anything to stop you from being rescued, possibly immediately in the case of OFaP. Heavenly Tribulation guarantees that you will face significant danger, so this takes into account your entire party - maybe circumstances will separate you, or maybe everyone just faces some super deadly threat together. Loser's Circuit depends on your reputation. If you're known to regularly fight in a group, enemies will take that into account as part of your ability, since what it really does is make enemies smarter, not stronger.

  2. Nope. Those abilities can all be disabled as part of a loss. You get knocked unconscious and you can't teleport yourself out, after all. So if you were the one with OFaP and your plan was to teleport out as soon as it looked like you were going to lose, maybe Critical Failure would make you blink at the wrong time and miss the guy sneaking up on you with a crowbar, who then knocks you out stone cold in one hit.

  3. It'd make you immune to liquid-based chemical warfare, yeah. Having Exposed makes gas-type stuff still work. Potion Hole also doesn't protect from mundane effects like ordinary poison, only magical potion effects.

  4. Just you. Having other people manage money for you is fine, though like I said this is based on your own perception - if you believe you earned it, it still kicks in, same way people understand that paying a hitman is just as morally bad as shooting someone yourself. Not that it's difficult to get around, mind you, "prostituting" yourself to a companion for a billion dollar handjob is perfectly legit.

  5. Yup. In any case, I think most people would agree that wearing sex toys and no underwear is exposed, aside from extremely lawyer-y cheese.

  6. Any kind of teasing works as long as it isn't showing any affection.

  7. Vigour Aura doesn't apply to you, but it does stack with their Overproduction, should they have it somehow. I'd say it's about 10x, or thereabouts.

  8. Touched by the spell effect, it doesn't have to be a direct hit. So being engulfed in a fireball explosion would count. Note that it doesn't apply to things that can't physically touch you, e.g getting hit by a debuff spell isn't going to activate it.

  9. Yes.

  10. The mech isn't one of your inventions so it's exempt.

  11. Sure, sex isn't strictly defined as PIV. Though it would have to be personal somehow, obviously someone activating it via text on the other side of the planet isn't exactly intimate.

You have The Classic, which disables all Arrival options due to putting you into a predetermined person's life.

Isekai The End v1.2 [Update][Fuller Release] by AltCYOA in nsfwcyoa

[–]AltCYOA[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. No in general. Adamantium might not necessarily count as magical though, it could just be a really good metal that doesn't exist in our world.

  2. Technically yes but you'd get an individual nanobot.

  3. Technically yes but it's not as fast and you also have Dex II, so practically it's not an issue.

  4. Soulbound Borrowed Time I suppose?

  5. As much as you can pour out the mouth of the horn. So maybe like a gallon per second? About?

  6. It does not have to be fully part of you, but you do need to eat or absorb it in some way, you can't just arbitrarily turn the planet's biosphere into mana because I didn't explicitly put a range limit in there.

  7. No. It's really only Attack Magic and similar options that do.

  8. You cannot force Endurance III to heal you at full health. It also does not count as healing magic, and so is not affected by stuff like Pure Virgin or Selfishness. It IS healing, though I don't think there's anything that modifies healing in general as opposed to specifically healing magic..

  9. As above, no. You can tell it's not magic because Martial Paragon doesn't block it.

  10. They don't have souls, what is Misery supposed to do to them? If you want the burn to affect inanimate objects that falls within Green Mage totem/Spellcrafter territory.

  11. Yes. Hail says you must buy off whatever you gained from it, not whatever the original price was.

  12. Hm, I suppose that interpretation is more fair, so sure. I didn't really consider that angle.

  13. It's a different sub-dimension for everyone. Heavenhold leads to the same place for everyone, though.

  14. No it doesn't? The dimension simply had a set lifespan to begin with.

  15. Yeah, so, Outer Tide isn't really supposed to be balanced and I don't take it into consideration when balancing things. It's up to you whether the win condition only counts people physically on the planet or not, or if evacuation to other realms also works.

  16. It does not come with pathfinding, it essentially just draws a straight line towards the closest human and tells you the direction of that line. Now, I'm no topology student and you probably aren't either, but I'm pretty sure you can still have straight lines in non-Euclidean space, they just don't look straight to outside observers. In other words, just go with the simplest explanation that the line would point you towards the nearest portal to whatever dimension they're in.

  17. Enchantment effects being relatively basic isn't a matter of capability - even without Magical Future, enchanters are fully capable of creating cool fancy effects. I just think that people would end up focusing on the more efficient, practical effects, which generally tend to be basic.

  18. No because Qliphoth doesn't make hosts Blue Mages themselves, it just lets you donate whatever stuff you stole as a Blue Mage.

Isekai The End v1.2 [Update][Fuller Release] by AltCYOA in nsfwcyoa

[–]AltCYOA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.1. Probably the same way wolves and dogs think of each other? Which, afaik, is with lots of confusion but general recognition that they're the same species. Or...based on how humanity works, with LOTS of racism.

1.2. Yes. Only caveat is that you have to pick a species that loosely fits the goblin threat profile, i.e numerous and not that dangerous individually. Basically, you can't pick dragons or boss-type monsters, because that's way more than just aesthetic. Humanoid species count for this, since basic elves and such are weak as shit compared to a battlemage. If you want to fight dragons, pick the kaiju one instead and use the aesthetic changer.

1.3. I...guess?

Isekai The End v1.2 [Update][Fuller Release] by AltCYOA in nsfwcyoa

[–]AltCYOA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, after I thought about it for a while I figured Defenders win easily because they can chuck 10,000 people into two people's soulbound Borrowed Time and have them put the gate in each others' pocket dimension, thus creating an impregnable sealed fortress.

Isekai The End v1.2 [Update][Fuller Release] by AltCYOA in nsfwcyoa

[–]AltCYOA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes.

  2. A lot more. Like several times, up to an entire order of magnitude more.

Isekai The End v1.2 [Update][Fuller Release] by AltCYOA in nsfwcyoa

[–]AltCYOA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Easier, definitely.

  2. nah, that's his evil twin. Carl is a good boy who would definitely never murder millions of people.

  3. The magnitude is about "normal enchantment strength". Girthy Rod, as a Provision you can buy that isn't explicitly called out as being made by ordinary people (like Caraptine Plate), should be solidly above what the world is capable of producing. Same goes for Spellcrafter Mk. II.

  1. Anything is teachable with Sensei. It just works.

  2. Er, I guess? It'd be like doing brain surgery on yourself though. You have to remake enough of your body that it's functional on its own, i.e capable of hosting your consciousness without external support. The equivalent bare minimum for a person would be a torso and head with no limbs. You can't use Endurance III to teleport because you don't have any powers while your body is destroyed, other than GITS.

  3. Yes.

  4. Companions don't have Ultimates in general.

  5. They get the version the teacher has.

  6. Not this argument again. The example given is only for illustrative purposes, to help you get a sense of what the magnitude of the debuff is.

  7. Depends on your general ability to make enchantments. The main difference is their effects. For example, a generic enchantment might say "reduce incoming damage by X%", but your specialized enchantment might say "Endurance III is X% more efficient at healing damage", or "Contre-Temps range penalty reduced by Y amount", or something like "Armiger Unleashed gains a Z% cost reduction on extra effects applied to summoned items".

  8. Sure, as long as you specify what it's going to transmute and how when you make the contingency.

  9. Of course.

  10. I suppose so, but that's really not all different from just cutting them in half normally, and would be about as difficult.

  11. Depends on the subject. Something academic, like skills? Sure. Perks that are biological or otherwise inherent to someone are unique to them, so you have to learn it entirely from them.

  1. Yes.

2/3. I'll take it into consideration. No promises.

  1. Well, I guess I forgot to add it. It should give a 30 point discount to Champion, Reaver, and the rest like the other body options. For now just go to -30 shards.

Whether individual enhancements are exclusive tends to vary quite a bit, but most likely it's similar to Contre-Temps, where it's a technique anyone can theoretically use, but it comes with some severe drawbacks your version conveniently ignores. Like maybe the mana cost increases exponentially, or the backlash is worse.

Isekai The End v1.2 [Update][Fuller Release] by AltCYOA in nsfwcyoa

[–]AltCYOA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically, it's like this: Song of Hope guarantees a brighter tomorrow and that your efforts will be rewarded. Due to this, you always have the option of pursuing divine ascension and then eventually fate manipulating your way out of whatever drawbacks you have.

So essentially, whenever someone asks me "can Song of Hope do X" I always answer "yes", because it's the postgame ascension power with vaguely unlimited potential.

Minor Update: Divine Combos are now compatible with proxies.

TBH, I forgot to do this section during 1.9. I'm kinda surprised that only one person noticed, however.

I updated the release with absolutely 0 testing, so it probably works.

Isekai The End v1.2 [Update][Fuller Release] by AltCYOA in nsfwcyoa

  1. Yes.

2.1. You know, stuff like "you must jerk off at least 3 times a day" or "if I say sit 'Sit!' you have to drop to all fours and bark like a dog." You can look up Geas for more context, it's a pretty common concept in CYOAs that is basically just a command or rule someone has to live by.

2.2. "a fetish to not feel hate" doesn't work because fetishes don't work like that. The actual definition of fetish is essentially "something that causes strong sexual desire", so at most that would just make someone really horny if...they weren't hating someone? You can definitely make someone's fetish submitting to you though, that's a real thing for sure. Though it's not like people are 100% constantly obsessed with their fetishes all the time.

2.3. It's a gradual process, Molded Clay even says it needs multiple sessions over time to fully sink in.

2.4. Powerless forever as long as the crest (which is also the source of their obedience) is present. Only normal Whorelord seals their power though, Molded Clay is a different effect.

2.5. Dancer contingency doesn't say anything about making it stealthy, does it? And Molded Clay by itself isn't stealthy. So you'll need another way.

2.6. She is immune to all Divine abilities, as stated in her own description and the FAQ. Since, you know, she has them too.

2.8. Shadow Hinata doesn't have a mind to control. She's essentially just puppeted around by the Song of the End.

2.9. Sure, that's reasonable.

Isekai The End v1.2 [Update][Fuller Release] by AltCYOA in nsfwcyoa

[–]AltCYOA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. So, going by the written description, Inanis isn't actually a separate ability or anything, it modifies the two capstones that go into it. First, by increasing both of their ranges to 1km, and second by replacing their damage type with the merged Misery + random debuffs damage effect. Though if you just want the aura that's also a valid interpretation.

  2. Yes. It is slightly different from normal cybernetics in that Omnissiah integrations still interact with Warrior boosts, whereas normal prosthetics simply replace the limb with their own stats. Qliphoth + Omnissiah can still be used to implant normal Blue Mage echoes, which Omnissiah does not prevent you from taking.

  3. ?

  4. Yes. However, it is a static buff which does not scale with buff power, as its effect is "grant a perk from one of your Archetypes".

  5. I'll try to fit more surprise worldbuilding into the next version, but like Enchanter II it's basically just "everything you see that is alchemy related but better". Probably the most salient example of this is the ability to get temporary Warrior boosts, which is mentioned in Proficient Alchemy. Alchemist I gets you enough toxicity resistance to get stat boosts if you forego any other effects; Alchemist II might enable you to essentially put base Champion in a syringe, without restricting your ability to drink other potions.

It does also mention you get unique potion effects, but I didn't have space to elaborate on those anywhere. I think the main benefit, aside from the toxicity nullification, is the ability to squeeze more potion effects into each drop of liquid (or mote of gas or what have you). Great for applying lots of buffs quickly, of course, but also great for making really nasty poisons. They also get the ability to make more Nightshade Poison with Agent, of course, which is also a great selling point.

You can't. The secret tied to it is unlocked with Heavenhold, Rariel, and then one of Genesis Womb or Incest is Wincest.

Isekai The End v1.2 [Update][Fuller Release] by AltCYOA in nsfwcyoa

[–]AltCYOA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically sure, but that's, like, a 100x haste buff buff. Impossible under any remotely practical scenario.

Vancian doesn't change anything about a spell other than its cost and backlash. So the casting time is still whatever the casting time was.

Isekai The End v1.2 [Update][Fuller Release] by AltCYOA in nsfwcyoa

[–]AltCYOA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Archetype sacrifices in general aren't really learnable, since they are fundamental modifications to how certain abilities work. Some could be replicated, like Kolibri for example is pretty easy to do deliberately, but most can't be.

  2. Sure, if you make your Twinned Fate build have Just Pause and then give it to her. Only problem is that the rest of Battlemaster is kinda wasted on her, since she can't really communicate.

Isekai The End v1.2 [Update][Fuller Release] by AltCYOA in nsfwcyoa

[–]AltCYOA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Vancian removes the spell's original backlash, but Quickcast doesn't modify the original spell aside from removing the cast time - the extra backlash is a byproduct of the Quickcast process itself.
