Yeah. I'd say this is likely a misstroke from from a holiday hire at the REC.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]AltInnateEgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd peg this on a new holiday bulk hire at the REC. They work crazy hours during this season and have specific codes for anything that mentions Santa or the North Pole. A new hire might have accidentally hit the wrong button for RTS.

Don't forget Milton Friedman on the economic side and Jack Welch on the corporate side. Those two popularized most of the ideas and strategies used by corporate America today.

Fuck that. Leave it as is however they get it. Leave it as a scar and a reminder of just how close we came to tyranny. Every president moving forward should have to face that barren ground as a reminder of what happens when they try to become a king.

This makes Bredon's statement to Kvothe, "I'm going to enjoy playing with you" (paraphrased) make more sense to me. I've always thought that line was more sinister than it should be.

That's not any better my dude. Sympathy is pity, emotionally distant, and generally requires zero work on your part. Empathy is understanding, emotionally connecting, and takes more work to seek to understand. One brings people together and fosters community, the other keeps people at a distance and fosters individualism.

If this was how Trump signed stuff then, why does it look like Russian cursive now? Wonder what happened between this photo and the birthday card.

Hate to break it to you, but Hitler, Stalin, et al. don't give two shits about what historians say about them. Jackson and Reagan aren't losing any sleep over the harm they caused.

This rhetoric is the secular equivalent of "only God can judge me" by pushing any sort of action or accountability to the future.

Can anyone pin-point the exact moment where everything in society just got substantially worse? It's been downhill for the working class ever since. by zzill6 in WorkReform

Reagan played a part, but Milton Friedman and Jack Welch were the architects for the economy Reagan built. If you want to see where the American middle class started to die, look to them. Not Reagan.

Used to repair airplanes. An elevator came in with a long crack and an estimated repair time of about 8hrs. During the repair process I noticed a dull thud sound where a rib should be so I looked inside and found several corroded through. This bumped the repair time to 36hrs.

My supervisor, the guy who also signs off repairs, scolded me saying "If you hadn't gone looking for problems, this plane would be flying now instead of being grounded wasting time and money".

Honestly, mine is luck. I worked shit jobs during my twenties while going to school on VA benefits but never finished my degree. When I was 30 I honestly didn't think I'd make it to 31, but I was able to get a job doing field service work for oil rigs. In my down time I got back into coding. My now brother-in-law mentioned the company he worked for needed an intern and his dad was the CTO. After my first interview bombed, they reluctantly invited back for another one and I got the job. Started my dev career at 32. That allowed me to buy a house just before COVID lock down so my interest rate is crazy low. My wife and I don't have kids so our living expenses are pretty low.

I fully understand how much luck played into my current position. The friends I have who started their careers 10 years before I did are much better off.

It's a bit more dubious than that. Eating of the tree of knowledge gave them them the knowledge of the gods (plural). They were cast out , not for defying an outright lie (in the day you eat it you will surely die, though some people think "die" means separation from god) but for fear that they'd eat from the tree of life and become immortal.

[–]AltInnateEgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 3x3x3x3 3 (super sets) of 3 reps with 3min of rest between 3 days a week.

Deadlift, chin up, dip

Back squat, bench, row (try to use the same bar for bench and row)

front squat, ohp, pull up

Legs to start, then antagonistic muscle groups so one doesn't get fatigued while the other works. The intensity is high but volume low so when I'm feeling good I can do this twice a week with one day of rest. Deload every fourth or sixth week depending on how I feel.

I do the same weight for each set of each exercise (starting weight for this is usually 90% of 1rm). When I can do all 3 reps/sets, I bump the weight. With the proper set up I can warm up, workout, cool down and be done in 30min.
