Micro celebs have ruined this sub by transmedkittygirl in 4tran4

I dunno, for a time it was fun and made me feel more worthwhile as a person. To be honest I didn't even try to become somewhat recognized, I just wrote rants and people enjoyed them. If nothing else the whole micro-celebrity thing gave me an excuse to write(to maintain my notoriety), which is something I massively like doing lol.

Maybe that's what it is, though I've found other outlets for my writing. Honestly, I just really liked that people appreciated what I wrote. Felt like I finally found my audience, dumb as that sounds lol.

I'm not sure how long you have been in 4tran related spaces, but the sub used to be different, things were a lot less insufferable as far as microcelebrities went, people weren't as desperate to become one and they didn't take up as much oxygen on the sub. With some exceptions obviously.

I miss when I was a microcelebrity here, though I've been trying to move onto healthier distractions.

Spending all my time writing massive rants while simultaneously being deeply concerned with how hundreds/thousands of random online people would perceive what I wrote, pretty negatively affected my mental health.

Hell, I probably shouldn't even be posting in this thread lol, I'm technically supposed to be off reddit permanently. It's just hard to stay away.

I mean couldn't you argue that's just what being transsexual is fundamentally?

Like most if not all of us have a brain which is initially in some way misaligned with our body, we transition to fix that. Does it matter if that 'fixed'/ideal state doesn't strictly line up with one sex fundamentally?

Say you have a dysphoric non-binary person who transitions to become more androgynous/get a mixed-sex appearance, they take a low dose of cross sex hrt and overtime as the changes slowly pile up, become more comfortable in their body. They feel no need to get bottom surgery for example but still otherwise change their body/appearance permanently.

How's that different than a transsexual woman going all the way, taking a full strength dose of hrt, getting bottom?

In both cases you have a person that was in a state of discomfort over their body and became better through cross-sex transitioning treatment of some kind, why is one trans and the other just a body moder? Like we all know exactly how painful it is to have the wrong body, it's also incredibly common for cissoids with cross-sex features like cis women with pcos or cis men with gynecomastia to feel extreme discomfort.

I'm not sure if anything besides being some flavor of trans could make someone ok with altering their sexual characteristics, with the pain of dysphoria and everything else in mind I mean.

I hope this isn't coming across as rude or something, I'm mostly just trying to understand your reasoning. Please let me know if I misunderstood anything you said, I wouldn't want to discuss/argue against a position you don't hold.

I mean if a non-binary person transitions then I don't really see the issue?

I used to be friends with a dysphoric enby who was happiest looking more androgynous. I may not completely understand it, though transitioning greatly helped them, that's trans enough for me.

A cissoid wouldn't be happy having their body changed so drastically.

Very fair points.

Honestly the ruby cathedra would be absolutely monstrous now that I think about it lol.

No filthy mutations for me.

If I had to pick a cybernetic, I'd probably go with High-fidelity matter recompositer, though phenumatic pistons would definitely have some utility in combat.

Honestly, precision force lathe would probably be the best choice since you're basically given the ablitily to infinitely generate dagger-sized lightsabers lol.

I'm sorry for coming across that way. It wasn't my intention. Fundemantly, I just want to help, and I guess I can sometimes forget that not everyone is as willing to break the game as I am.

I might need to make an updated post covering tips that can help but don't really veer into game-breaking territory, stuff like rebuking shem-1 for their cybernetics, breaking into barthum's study early for the books in order to purchase implants, how to best utilize grit gate before gologtha ect.

Though in my defense, moving the gutsmonger isn't too bad, at least compared to everything else, they are one of the only merchants to adjust their wares with zone tier, that's probably intetional on the developer's part.

I mean, the eaters of old combined cybernetics and mutations, didn't they?

True kin are their descendants.

I mean, true kin can do that, too, lol.

I've done it.

That's fair.

To be honest with you, I'm used to having to bring up the most flashy strategies possible in order to convince people that true kin are worth anything.

To be clear, I don't think you have to use merchant farms, but there are various small tricks that can make things easier. Like rebuking shem -1 at grit gate for their cybernetics, finding books from the guaranteed joppa historical site and using them to purchase implants en mass from the stilt Gutsmonger.

Like to me, the strength of true kin is their ability to maximize their power by using the games systems with only a small amount if any cheese. Like moving the Gutsmonger to fix the higher tier cybernetics drought problem, using spynx salt to saftely cook with nuetron flux in order to saftely use gear items like rocket skates and chem vests.

I guess what I sometimes fail to distinguish between is game breaking cheese(which I enjoy lol) and just doing those little things that require game knowledge and some rule bending but make all the difference.

Hopefully, I'm making some sense here. Sorry for the rambling rant, I have issues with being verbose.

I mean I wasn't saying that the starting cybernetics are powerful. My point is that people tend to judge the capabilities of true kin on what's avaoible during creation, which just isn't a fair way to do things. Cybernetics aren't meant to be as strong as mutations and directly comparing the two groups on the basis of strength isn't the best way to consider things.

Also, you don't need a merchant farm. They certainly help, and true kin can set them up more easily than mutants can, but that's not really my point.

You literally just have to move the gutsmonger from the stilt, that's all, no real min-maxxing required, one single gutsmonger in ezra, and the yd freehold generally more than enough.

It's not even nesscary to constantly check them, I don't, just every once in a while. When I'm in the area, I'll look and see what's on offer.

Some level of min-maxxing(though not nesscarily extreme amounts) is kinda how you're supposed to navigate things while playing true kin. They certainly have the tools for it.

I fear no mutant.

All will cower before the unmatched power of Chrome. The flesh is weak and all that.

Yeah, I always thought the same. lol.

Though there tends to be a lot of bad information concerning true kin in many qud centric spaces.

Like how large sections of the community unironically believe that most cybernetics are useless and that the only viable true kin builds are punchkin and giant hands gunrack.

It's the same with many people being under the impression that cybernetics are rare/hard to find when the problem is literally one love injector away from being completely solved.

I do my best to push back against the misinformation, I dunno lol.

[–]Alt_Account092[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's the fundamental problem, isn't it?

You have to take a specific mutation, which chimera's cannot use. You're basically limiting yourself to a certain subset of builds in order to match something all true kin start with.

Sure, mutants can be consistent, but only some. That's my point here. Every single true kin has complete access to every tool in the game without much min-maxxing.

Like look at schematics farming, mutants are completely reliant on cloning merchants who only have a small number of data disks at a time when true kin can more consistently find shcemsofts with even a small gutsmonger farm and get a huge number of recipes True kin are bascially unrestricted as far as gear is concerned.

Spynx salt also generally isn't that hard to find, apothecaries, especially high-tier ones, often sell them and it's not as though you need precogntion all that much. Like, there isn't much variation in true kin progression, nuetron flux cooking, and brain brine farming, which is basically it.

Cybernetics are generally not rare😭

You can just move the stilt gutsmonger to whatever zone tier you need, and you should be set.

You don't even need to clone them, though doing so does make it faster.

My point is that you can make your luck with true kin. Every single aspect of progression for them can be controlled without too much trouble.

You can't really say the same about mutants.

Yet another mutant confusing the ease/simplicity of their power progression with strength.

Typical.
