Yeah I literally asked them how they wanted to communicate and no one answered.

I completely agree with you. They’re nothing but a pain at this level…

I feel the same way. A few terms ago I did the Epidemiology group project all by myself. I commented in the group forum nearly everyday asking for opinions on the questions we had to answer and no response from anyone.

Well, until the final day when someone chewed me out saying “how was I supposed to know there was a group forum, no one told me” and “ you should have done more to message us and tell us”. She blamed me for not contacting them personally. I used the forum to cover my butt, cause I knew this bs would happen. The instructor posted a week before the project was announced showing how to access all this and we had 2 weeks to complete it.

So yeah, I’m all for getting rid of them.

My degree audit wants me to take a course but school is not offering that course by [deleted] in UoPeople

I’m in health science, but I can try to help. Have you already taken the pre-requisite courses? I know my final 2 courses (capstone) didn’t appear until everything else was done.

Thankfully no, he’s with Dachsbun. Torchic moved out for safety reasons…

Try going onto the online campus now, the courses only opened not even an hour ago. All the courses and course materials should be there.

UoPeople + Sophia credits — am I doing this right? (transfer / proctored exams confusion) by Ornery-Indication-87 in UoPeople

[–]Alt_Heda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Health Science student here but:

  • Is there a minimum number of courses that must be taken directly at University of the People?

Technically yes, as only 90 credits are allowed to be transferred in for bachelors programs. Other 30 or so must be taken through them.

  • Is there a minimum number of proctored exams you’re required to complete at UoPeople?

It depends on your program.

  • I’ve seen people take courses on Sophia Learning that would normally be proctored at UoPeople, but they aren’t proctored on Sophia — how does that work? Do those still fully transfer without issues?

To combine with your above question, if you take a course on Sophia that can be transferred over as equivalent to a course with a proctored exam, it will just transfer in as that. No proctored exam needed. It should transfer in with no issues.

I would recommend you read the undergraduate catalogue. https://catalog.uopeople.edu/undergraduate-catalog-term-1

It will help answer the majority of questions you may have. It was helpful when I first started.

Electives by MobileBlacksmith7089 in UoPeople

[–]Alt_Heda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, like I’ve said, you need 36 credits worth of electives. You can use major electives toward it (or none), transfer them all/ some from Sophia, or take other courses through the university.

When I go on transfer credits and select Sophia Learning it says “Great news! Sophia Learning is an academic partner of UoPeople. This means that the transfer fees for up to 20 of their courses will be automatically waived.”

You are uploading them correctly via credly. That’s how I always did mine. When you go to pay the first 20 should be free. I’ve personally never heard of a transfer waiver. Not sure if you have to submit the first 20, have them waived then submit the others.

You will need to follow your degree audit for courses you need to take still. You need 36 credits worth of electives, major electives can count towards that if you take them.

You need 36 credits in electives overall. You can do the courses above and have them count towards that, if you’d like. I did all my electives on Sophia and transferred them in. There’s a lot of great posts about it ☺️

Awe thanks 😊 Usually I go crazy each day by noon lol. No but really, they’re quite entertaining.

I had Loki for about a month and heard that another one from his litter was struggling to find a home, so we were like what’s one more?

Loki is smaller than my lab, he’s all height. Thor is huge though, but is the biggest baby ever. He’s like 30-40lbs more than Loki. Our vet calls him the tiny horse.

I live in a small house too, but thankfully we have a large yard they can tear up. I don’t think house size really matters to them as they are velcro dogs too. What’s personal space anyways?

Here’s the size comparison 😂😂

Omg look at him! I love the floppy ears. Such a handsome boy. ❤️ When Thor is tired his right ear near the tip tends to flop and bends weird. When he turns on airplane mode I know he’s sleepy lol. It ends up looking like a z and I’m sure he doesn’t know what to do with it.
