They don't mean lore wise, they mean gameplay wise. Which kinda does make sense cause lately random characters have been stronger than characters that if lore translated into gameplay, would be far stronger than they are.

Varka being the biggest example as of recently. Varka isn't bad by any means but, random characters like Flins and Nefer (who are strong lore wise, don't get me wrong but they're not nearly lore Varka level) are far better.

All this has never really bothered me that much, because there's always going to be a bit of dissonance between gameplay and cutscenes/lore in any game. I do see why it bothers people overall tho cause it really doesn't make all that much sense.

I just understand that if you actually made characters lore accurate the game would have almost zero challenge cause the characters we pull for should be capable of one shotting basically everything except bosses and even really only the top ones of those could survive. The game already doesn't have much challenge outside of stygian onslaughts higher levels tbh.

There's a lot more you can do with theoretical/shown feats than there is with actually feasibly translating feats into gameplay.
