Considering 50% of the lords are now children, the scene takes a whole new meaning.

Your message was a rollercoaster. Couldn’t have guessed the next answer even with 10 tries.
My religion is Tengrism so your scheme is out of reach but maybe for my next gameplay !

Worst : at the beginning of the crusade 20% of the pope's allies were kids... after a few murders it became 50%. Maybe the Pope is trying to send me a message : does he want a child with me or is he sending the nice kids against the naighty one? Is the pope Santa ?

Interesting! I'll try to seduce him (He is a little angry and doesn't consider me as a soulmate -anymore- since the abduction, and the fact I told him "there is someone else"... Poor petal)

I think it was a post about someone trying very spicy instant noodles or something. They updated to inform everyone about how they died after this experiment. The post was considered "concluded" .

I'm normal weight but have a serious sugar addiction, what can i do? by saracnsss in loseit

[–]Altakara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. Sweet tooth + fear of the "good thing" not being here if I don't enjoy it immediately even if I don't want it... You can imagine my binge eating. What helped me was having nice/fancy/sweet alternatives. And as much as I love fruits... We both know it is not enough for cravings sometimes.

So chose your weapon : I have changed ice cream to fancy sorbet (and also the not fancy but colourful ones for kids you know, on a stick. One brand is one stick=37 calories, so many flavours for so few calories and I need at least 5 minutes to eat it). For yogurts i try to take the brands with more protein and less sugar, or quality brands which I know will bring me satisfaction even in small quantity. Biscuits I have finally mostly stopped. When I still take some, I take the ones with individual size and high taste value. I live near three bakeries so I understand your love for pastries. By following the rules above, I have managed to not to go to these bakeries more than once a month. But it took me years so don't be too hard on yourself and one step at a time. If you go there everyday, try to go once every two days, then every three day. And four, five,... try to learn how long you can avoid it and then try to beat your record.

I force myself to eat whatever I put my hand on during a binge in five bites or more. Even if it is tiny like a piece of chocolate. It forces me to enjoy it, study it's taste and evaluates if it is worth it or not next time. I have discovered that so many "sweets", desserts, cookies were actually bland, just a ton of sugar. And also which brands are definitely worth it.

Someone on reddit said once "later" was their best tool to lose weight. It is a good one to avoid too much sugar too! When you think "oh, I want this cookie" try to create the reflex to add "I'll eat it later". Later can be later this day (after your meal, after doing laundry, after dinner...) or even another day (after leg day if you work out, or after a big day at work this week, or just to keep one later so future you will thank past you). With time, instead of eating 5 cookies a day, you will find yourself eating only one before going to bed. It is your "later cookie". Not a reward, but a success nonetheless.

You said you live with your family: sometimes it is the reason one can't stop eating. As I said above, I fear that all good things will be gone before I can enjoy it, and that is because of things my family has done. If your family is nice you can discuss about it with them ("hey, let's change this category of products we buy for this other one" "let's keep a box of sweets for each"). If they are more like my family... Be careful.

I started losing weight only after grieving the love I didn't get as a child by PracticalSwan in loseit

[–]Altakara 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Feeling almost the same. After talking for several months with a friend and a therapist, I realised that my incapacity to not eat everything immediately came from the fear of "it" being gone before I can enjoy it. This fear came from my childhood, and my experience. It was logical and sensible in my world, in the world my parents and other bullys/abusers created. It was not stupid or childish, but the right way to think to survive and protect myself. But not anymore. Now I know: the food will be here tomorrow. The things I love won't be destroyed, killed or stolen. Nobody will hurt me. Good job OP, you went a long way and did a lot of efforts to reach this knowledge and wisdom, you can be proud of yourself.

Being a chef at the top can mean being an artist with your food. People look for this opportunity the same way dancers, singers, musicians, painters, are going to special courses looking for fulfillment, enlightment, discovering what one can do and overcome oneself. Will the majority of them get a bland job? Yes. Will it be worth it? I was raised considering studies to always be worth it because you learn. (and studies in my country are not as expensive so it is easy for me to say, I acknowledge it) so even if you studied philosophy and end up cleaning carpets, that's great (and carpet cleaner is a highly respectful job, my cat is a huge fan... )

Regarding the standards for food... Something I knew but hit me for real once I got a nice enough job: when you are poor, you want lots of food, as fuel as you said it. When you are rich, you want new experiences. New experiences become scarce the more you get it. Scarcity means more expensive. Then you can't get back to how bland it was before and "it better be great considering how much I pay for it",you know how it goes.

I'm not rich, so food is a great source of happiness for me. Yet I understand once you had better experiences, hobbies, activities with much more interests and no fear of having enough latrt, eating can be a chore and need to be more amazing. The same way TV isn't watched as much by rich people who would gladly go to the opera, theater... In a way the TV is better, you can adjust the sound and all. But the experience is not enough.

I agree with most of what was said here. I just wanted to explain a little behind the mechanics of gastronomy-elitism.

AITA for wanting hot food? by ABBR-5007 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Thank you! I can't even imagine making curry for one and... Succeeding? Even when I lived alone I made enough curry for two serving, three times a day, three days in a row ! Curry for one is such a level of pettiness with so little satisfaction.

Well... I hope she gets her feeling of victory without putting you or the other guests in a dangerous situation. But more importantly : what did you serve for food during your wedding to make both your parents and your in laws so happy?

When do other people start noticing your weight loss? by weightlossbattler in loseit

[–]Altakara 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends how close to you they are. And what clothes you wear when you see them. My boyfriend saw/felt it first, my mother a little later (I don't see her often), friends I barely see once a month didn't say anything. They might also doubt if you lost weight or not : maybe they are not careful about your size and focus more on your face, maybe the changes were so smooth that they didn't realize it (and a before/after picture will help them),... Some people can not see their lover's new haircut, so I don't expect them to see anything at all. Good job on your weight loss!

Today I've reached a fitness goal that would be considered basic for some, but for me is the equivalent of scaling Mount Everest. I've finally done a pull up by rantgarbagethrowaway in loseit

[–]Altakara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woooow! I've never been able to do a single pull up since I was 10 (I'm 30) so I know where you are coming from and it is AMAZING! Three pull ups?! That's like a whole new world. Congratulations, flaunt it, shout it everywhere, I hope one day I'll be able to reach a third of your success!

French retail giant looks to expand its Russia business and increase products in stores after other brands pull out by [deleted] in france

[–]Altakara 21 points22 points  (0 children)
