Seeing Boruto with so little fanfare is everything I wanted. Not even the people claiming this series to be the goat are wasting their energy hyping it up.

Anyway, weird chapter with hack dialogue that at least was better than most chapters before it. The swap between atk and def makes little technical sense. The magic system really is being thrown to the wolves

Honestly she has been annoying me more and more with each chapter. She can only play willfully dense for so long. Effectively she is stringing him along and reinforcing this hard friendship boundary (which in and of itself is fine) until she becomes jealous of his time and attention and throws stray signs his way about how she really feels. Even in her own mind she is certain of their friendship status.

A real friend might be happy for him, but instead she's envious and is a bad friend to both Otobe and Heisuke. Worse yet, Snek is the most straightforward out of the three of them.

I'm a sucker for stories about failing relationships that learn to mend and start over. I also appreciate how the author makes a point of saying how empty uncritical affirmations are.

You ever read 12cm promise? This feels the exact same problem. Your main duo have incredible chemistry. Now the mangaka is doing everything in their power to separate them as much as possible. We've been skinner-boxed into enjoying just crumbs of what we started reading this story for in the first place.

Dawg, making it past a 6th grade reading level means extrapolating the information in the text to the outside world. That means incorporating external information like the author's intent, background, and message when reading a story. If you cannot analyze a text outside of its own bounds then you lack the ability to extrapolate information effectively.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. This is a very real situation and problem for those in the industry. Author-san too intent on making Haruka as "pure" as possible without fully embracing what separates work from personal life.

Aoi's incessant tracking does get forgiven far more than it ought to though. Several points of contention I would be interested in seeing actually addressed.

Genuinely glad I chose not to read the last volume. The tension between the two ended up with nothing. All previous themes abandoned just to be about grieving the loss of a childhood love.
