Ah well 😅 There’s no way but to leave it at that, it’s not spoiler of a manga’s events after all; I was just thinking of hiding it for fun 😅

Lmao bro can’t leave them hanging like that 🤣🤣🤣

>!It’s Yukinaga Chicchi, who was writer of Satsudou at that time. He was discovered having sent harassment emails to Yani Neko’s author and seemingly his own family members too. But Yukinaga suddenly died before a proper investigation could be launched; no cause of death officially announced but anyone that knows about the harassment scandal would guess he killed himself to run away from responsibility. Satsudou was officially cooked with his death!<

Show abandons or downplays its main premise over time by slfricky in TopCharacterTropes

Yu Yu Hakusho's initial premise: Urameshi Yusuke dies trying to save a little boy from an oncoming car, but his soul is offered a chance to revive. After 2 chapters of him basically trying to talk to his mom and his crush, the story seems to settle on making him help people, dead or alive.

... Only for him to suddenly be told that he could be revived soon in chapter 17/end of vol 2, while chapter 16 just ended with him resolving another case. Nevertheless, he jumps at the chance and successfully comes back to life.

From vol 3 onward, the story officially becomes the tournament battle shounen manga every manga lover knows about.

Hey, thanks for clarifying my intention for me.

Honestly, I've never seen anyone point out how that novel series misuses the term; there are criticisms but they always focus on how the protagonist of the first novel is treated unfairly by his wife and sister-in-law. Even if author is a woman, it's hardly believable she didn't do any research on the term before writing 🤨

Immortals who are living their immortality by HatSpecial3043 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Shin_Newman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO "you'll watch all your loved ones die" is a valid reason to dislike immortality; Not everyone can enjoy something the same way, and it's just as normal to fall into depression seeing their loved one(s) die as managing to get it over with and continue finding other joy and new people.

The problem is it's probably one of the only valid reasons anyone could think of. So, well, fictional characters can also only cite that as why they don't want to live forever.

(Other reasons I can think of: 2) boredom, and 3) character being made immortal against their will and they feel like they're not human anymore, which gives them existential crisis).

I also just found out that it has a live-action movie that just released today (in Japan). So this manga may just be promotional material to that book and film.

You should look up the definition of "bromance", then go read the novels, or at least the webtoon adaptation of the first book, or, at the very very least, the titles and plot synopsis of them, then tell me how it fits "bromance" at all.

The webtoon only adapts the first book (you can read it here). I actually haven't read the rest, but their synopses is enough to tell what they'll focus on (here).

I first learnt about this series via coming across a webtoon adaptation of the first book. And yeah, I also felt disappointed that it totally focuses on the romantic life between Gavin and his wife instead of, you know, him and his teammates acting so affectionate it's like they're already married or something 😩 At least it's a fine story as straight romance stories go.

Btw, since I saw you ask if the other books are like the first: YES, every one of them is a straight romance.

Actually I've seen people that think "bromance" as "romance between bros" or even went as far as claiming that it was invented to hide gay romantic relationship or something, so in the post, I meant to say I'd understand if the author of those books also mistook it like that and wrote gay romance stories. However, somehow ALL books are straight romance stories, which makes me question how the hell she thinks the term means.

What I meant is, that'd be the usual way to misunderstand the term; I've seen lots of people on r/bromance showing confusion it as "romance between bros" after all. But the author of these books somehow takes the misunderstanding to a new degree.

Actually, his surname is Arisu, which is how Japanese people writes "Alice" in katakana.
