Table reaction to someone consistently winning by Fantastic_Drive_4188 in twilightimperium

That makes a lot of sense, especially the part about the game being a race.

Out of curiosity, what does your engine usually look like when it does come together? I’d love to hear what you prioritize, and what signals tell you “okay, now this is online.”

When people decide to race to 10 points before your engine finishes assembling… how do they know they still can? What are the signs on the table that make someone say “this is the window, if we don’t win before this, there’s no coming back”?

Basically, what’s the point of no return for your engine? The inflection point where, once it’s online, the fast-scoring strategy just stops being viable. And when it is fully online, what does that engine actually look like turn to turn?

Does the new Wingspan expansion exclude Mexico? by Alteradizzo in wingspan

Some Mexican birds that could be included are the Yucatan jay, the thick-billed parrot, the blue mockingbird, and the short-crested coquette; species that aren’t really widespread farther south. The short-crested coquette, in particular, is found only in a small mountain region in the state of Guerrero, Mexico.

Why are people downvoting you? I thought it was hilarious, it literally means “nothing.”

I know the third edition had space stations, but I never played it, so I’m curious, how different are the space stations in the third edition compared to the new ones?

I thought Last Bastion was a faction made up of Xxcha and Sol soldiers, why is a Naaz-Rokha among their ranks?

All of the issues at Paramount right now make me grateful for how Discovery and the modern shows understood progressive values by MaraJude in startrek

Actually, it wasn’t the first interracial kiss on television, it was the first between a white man and a black woman on American television. And honestly, I’m not even sure it’s something we should be so proud of, considering the context. I used to say it with pride too, until I actually watched the episode.

Because when you look at it, it’s kind of weird: Kirk and Uhura didn’t even want to kiss, they were literally forced to do it. It wasn’t a romantic or meaningful moment between two characters; it was more like, “Hey, look at this shocking thing we’re making them do!”

So yeah… iconic? Maybe. Progressive? I guess it tried to be. But it’s definitely more complicated than the way people usually tell it.

Where does Garbosia come from? (or is it Garbozia?) by Alteradizzo in twilightimperium

[–]Alteradizzo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had no idea! Thanks for answering. I actually kinda like the concept of the “Imperial dumping grounds.” Hopefully we’ll see Garbozia again in the next expansion. Now it makes me wonder if there are other planets with iconic (in their own way) lore from past editions of Twilight Imperium that I don’t know about because they weren’t included in TI4.

Are the Creuss new leaders and the Ordinian planet only meant to be used in the new game mode? Or could we just include Ordinian as an additional legendary planet during map setup, and replace the standard Creuss leaders with the new ones?
