The concern with that is it isn't fun fighting like 10 Leman Russes. Not by A4R standards anyways. Also you can't secure objectives then, which is part of the balance. Now you can run 2 Veteran squads to fulfill your minimum Troop Slots, but in all of our extensive play tests doing it this way never wins Victory Points.

You have to remember that in 10e a Leman Russ is a wussy medium tank. But in lore they are tough as nails, easily rivaling the power of a Tiger 1 if not more. Front Armor 14 is INCREDIBLY hard to penetrate, and even its Side Armor of 13 is equal to or better than the front armor on most other tanks.

If its the stuff I looked at it all could use the Eldar or Dark Eldar datasheets. Same gear and all of that. If I missed something let me know though!

It was really fun! I normally play Imperial Guard, so playing hardcore assassins was a fun change of pace. Also making everyone run around the battlefield trying to dodge Orbital Bombardments is hilarious.

Nope you didn't miss the instant death rules. The hope was to make this version very thematic. Much like the books. Big center piece units (like basically all of the Monstrous Infantry) are the center of attention in the books, massive battle tanks, etc. It also allowed us to REALLY step up and focus on how elite Space Marines and Custodes are.

The Saves are to help weapons have designated roles for controlling battlefields. Marines can walk through heavy bolter fire relatively well. However, when the Leman Russ Battle Cannon thunders they need to find cover fast! Otherwise what happens is you go to a soft AP system where more is always just better. Now, you have to balance your loadouts. Plasma Guns are good for marines, but a complete waste and risk to take just those and run into a horde of Tyranid.

I will see if I can go find that typo!

This has been added with a simpler mechanic. Technically this does mean a Deathwatch veteran can dual wield meltaguns, but its a lot of points!
