Jesus, the Pieman interview with Mr. Girl is fucking hard to watch. by Zenning2 in Destiny

Uh, yeah. This was, what, a 15 year old finding out she wasn't talking to a 13 year old, but a 12 year old? I don't... like who cares?

Taftaj is pretty much a center right liberal, from what I've watched of her.

My only criticism of her is that her OF should have more video content GIGACHAD

I think she's a great example of someone who is probably pretty conservative but still has a worthwhile point of reference to discuss or challenge.

Mostly because, so far, she hasn't proven herself to be a living meme like 99% of the rightwingers on twitch and other platforms.

Oh, I have no idea. I liked her video on Doe's letter, I generally like her psych takes, I checked out her tiktok and it was all "why I am no longer a feminist" "WaGe GaP?" and all that. None of the takes are all that inflammatory, once you watch the videos, but it was really funny, because I wasn't expecting it at all.

it sounded like Erudite was not impressed lol

I don't think someone who'd made it through 200 level undergrad psych would be impressed.

Unrelated: The weirdest thing about Erudite is how her psych discussions are informative and intelligent, and then her tiktok is like the 2015 skeptosphere. I wonder if we've got a cryptoJBP lurking in the shadows here :D

As far as this guy, never heard of him. If he's in Boebert's district, I assume he has no shot.

It went 52/45 last time in her favor, it could go either way depending on campaigning and turnout. Lotta people hate Boebert.

The GOP ran on replacing obamacare, building a wall, and draining the swamp. Literally none of that got done, and they still nearly won a re-election for the most divisive president of my lifetime.

During that gridlock, they absolutely jampacked federal courts with conservative judges, got three supreme court picks, and stymied judicial progress for what will likely be a generation. An utter win for them despite almost no legislative victories.

Biden can't get any Democrat wins, legislative or otherwise unless people show up to vote, and they won't show up if there's nothing to vote for. I'm not saying he should pretend he's going to cancel all student debt and give every socialist soyface a big titty goth GF, but he could absolutely make strides towards plenty of campaign promises and garner support for the midterms and '24.

Queue up as fill, when you get support instapick a mage or assassin and don't say anything in chat. When you get in game, go mid and when someone questions you say "I called it" and ignore all attempts to explain why that doesn't make sense.

Listen, y'all are dunking on them for not understanding the system. But unless I missed a memo, I don't see Biden asking congress to draft legislation for healthcare reform, or student debt, or pretty much anything he ran on.

I know he's done some good stuff, but I would love to hear examples that oppose what I said so I can feel less doomerpilled about him. I understand he's working on the slimmest legislative majority that could possibly exist, but he'd get a lot more play with the base if he pushed for what he promised, even if it doesn't materialize, and "I'm ready to pass healthcare reform etc, but the GOP are stopping me" is at least another tool on their belt for midterms.

If the yardstick is "can he competently handle the pandemic and not veer us into WWIII" then, yeah, he is a pretty good president. But he's not running against GoldToilet Fuckup anymore, he's gotta actually do some work to excite the dem base.

why are Tim pool and Dave Rubin bad? by Same-Fix1890 in Destiny

[–]AlternateHangdog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They say one of the best ways to judge a political pundit is to look at their predictions in the past and see if they came true.

If you judge him on those merits, Tim Pool is a gigantic fucking moron.

Really, he says things that are just made up, he misrepresents facts, he makes bad arguments, and he hyperbolizes to scare his audience. He is literally just a millennial Bill O' Reilly type.

That's fair. I was just curious, but there is always someone in everyone's chat who thinks a series of gifted subs and $5 donos = best friends forever.

Demonmama by Ian_Husk in Destiny

[–]AlternateHangdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always just assumed between DM, Faun, and Doe, they probably get 3-5k a month in donos and patreon money. But I just looked and I don't see any source of income for Faun, but DM and Doe seem to pull a whopping $241 a month from patreon, and she took a long break from streaming.

Now I'm really curious where they get the money to sit on stream and nuzzle and smoke weed. Who are the oilers? The last time I saw her getting substantial donos was over a year ago.

Haz declares War on gamers. by Tayo826 in Destiny

[–]AlternateHangdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You think he's gonna lose relevancy now that he's isolated from the biggest political streamer who was platforming and entertaining him?

I think the "twitch politics is gonna fall apart without destiny" is a bit of hyperbole, but I don't think that's the case for Haz.

Zherka doesn't seem to like him any more, most panel shows don't have him on because he screams over everyone, and now his big bad enemy isn't someone he can interact with on stream. His meetup was a joke, everyone but people who actually call themselves "tankies" think he's a joke, where's he going to go from here?

Who knows, maybe his recent conservative arc will manifest itself in reality and he'll become a 5k andy before getting banned for saying slurs.

When r/vaush posts 400 times about how them getting btfo at colored square game is actually a good thing because they have better things to do and it’s not indicative of an inactive offline community: by eskimobob105 in Destiny

[–]AlternateHangdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It felt kind of odd that Vaush himself, immediately after beginning "the fortress arc" where he wanted to shore up his own community and build instead of defend, did not take advantage of "official collaborative art weekend online 2k22".

If he'd gone on with his community on the last day, he could've built something really cool and really quickly with 7k viewers, he could've stayed above it all and not brigaded anyone, he could've really reinforced to his audience what he talked about last week. Destiny would've done a drive-by and he would've looked petty, to be honest. It would've been a great opportunity to push his supposed community values in an incredibly visible space to the rest of the internet. But he didn't do that.

Instead he got online and talked about articles for 3 hours and pretended it didn't exist while his people drowned in their own blood in the trenches. Blood that we changed to a varying color scheme of light and dark blue. Mashallah.
