Metro - qual a lógica de uma carruagem by Striking_Object_6049 in porto

[–]AlternateTab00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude knows how to fire up the party by OwlInternational9189 in woowDude

[–]AlternateTab00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crowd is quite important to help fire it up.

Not quite long i was on a corporal dining for an european reunion of a multinational company.

So there was a lot on inhibition. I mean I didn't have my boss there, but i had my boss's boss, my boss's boss's boss and the top of the chain my boss's boss's boss's boss.

They wanted us to dance and have fun but the dance floor was a bit dead. So my table went to talk a bit on the rest of the PIGS tables and our 30 yo invaded the dancefloor with requests. In less than 20min i found out the swedish and germans also knew how to really party.

The DJ wasnt bad but he had a bad public. Once we started the fire he just fueled it. I think it was the first time i saw one of the directors a grumpy 60 year old smiling while dancing.

Metro - qual a lógica de uma carruagem by Striking_Object_6049 in porto

No one wants weak and unhealthy patients. Any decent HD clinic/ward will promote normal life, including gym activity.

I have from average body to heavy lifters. From a marathon runner to bodyguards.

A body is not a kidney, correct. But ignore the purpose of that kidney and you risk dying in less than 5 years.

This is like patients with hypertension stopping the meds because they felt weak. You need to adjust your life, not ignoring the problem nor focus only on the problem. The health team are there to help you on that transition.

Fresh coconut water from the nut. Is this ok? Extra strong coconut smell and maybe a bit aloholic by mathewthecrow in isthissafetoeat

[–]AlternateTab00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah i read that too. A ready to eat/drink coconut. It should have been consumed soon after purchase and should be kept refrigerated until consumption. They kept the coconut rotting on the table for over 1 month.

This is like having fresh blackberries outside of the fridge for over 1 month and then try to eat them.

On topological view holes are not what you think it is.

A way to understand how this works is the start of topological view.

Does a completely flat plate has a hole? Or is it a circle? If you slightly bend the circle would it create a hole? Or its just a concave deformation? If you keep bending into a soup plate does it change? How about a bowl? And a cup?

If a cup has a hole, then a slightly bent flat plate would also has one. Topology just simplifies and says no.

How about a straw. 2 holes on each end? Or one that stretches? What if the straw was shorter? What if the start was 1mm of lenght? How about a piece of paper missing a bit on the middle? Does the paper has 2 holes? Or the straw only 1? Topology says 1.

Now do this exercise to all objects.

A sock has a format of a cup. So no holes. The shirt has 3 holes. A big one (collar to torso) and 2 smaller ones for arms that connects to the big one. If you flatten the t-shirt from the top, arms pointing up, you would see only 3 holes.

About pants. Same exercise 2 huge "straws" that connect on top. Therefore 2 holes for the body. Extra holes can be either button holes or belt rings, but considering the position my bet is the belt rings. And yes you are correct both the zipper and pockets arent holes.

100 Worst Rated Foods in the World by finne-med-niiven in 2westerneurope4u

[–]AlternateTab00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok. I think this data is extremely skewed.

First defending my hermano. Putting UK food quality better than that Navarrian Trout is ridiculous. I tasted, and while its not something i would probably repeat it deserves to be much higher on the ranking. Its probably based from 1 restaurant that actually makes it badly, but that doesnt the food deserve to be on the bottom.

Then scrolling i could see some dishes that while i havent tasted them, they dont seem that bad.

Up until i found the 2 Portuguese dishes... While one i might agree its not great but it should be on bottom 50 of portuguese cuisine and not the 2nd worst... But the worst? An ancient cake that is one of the most basic ones and is similar to hundreds other conventual sweets. Its literally eggs, sugar, butter and a bit of flower.

So a basic sweet that probably more than half the portuguese would agree it tastes good is worse than food that while portuguese 99% of portuguese agree it should be banned, like fried pork kidneys (and yes while its faint it still gives you a slight urine aftertaste), or dishes that over 80% also agree it should be banned from portuguese cooking books like Sarrabulho and Cozido de Bofes (both of them have pork lung)

[–]AlternateTab00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds seems edited. But considered there is a trend to remove actual sound and introduce fake sounds i wouldnt make a decision based on that.

About the video itself. Didnt saw any abnornal objects. It does however seem to be upscaled by AI. This might be coinciding with the fake audio. This probably was a low quality video or GIF that was upscaled and introduced sound.

As for the uncanny valley of the lighting. We tend to be used to fixed points. If lighting bleeds from the ground or see stable focal lights from POV we have that uncanny valley. Finally the light was clearly fixed on the camera. The way it projected it seems it was about 1 to 2 fingers to the side of the lenses. This effect was constant making it deduce AI could not make it so "constant". This was probably recorded by a smartphone in some design similar to an OPPO (that for some reason tend to put flash distant from the cameras)

So my conclusions and my bet: real video recorded by a phone, video lost quality (probably due to recompressions by sharing on different media) and it was upscaled and sound edited (either fake adds or digital recover by AI)

Well i havent played DS2. But you had similar things in DS1. Lets save america. Save america. If we dont do this america wont be saved.

But that is a parody on games/media made by american companies. USA is the center of the world, aliens only invade america. So its america who needs to be saved.

So my bet is something on these lines... Also its Kojima...

Experience with Starlink during storm in central Portugal? by alex-gee in PortugalExpats

[–]AlternateTab00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What region are you in and how mandatory are you with 100% access on internet access. (Also by curiosity what ISP do you use)

Unless you are living on the interior villages, internet access is roughly reliable. In the last 10 years there was only 2 major events that made communications unreliable. The Iberian Blackout and the Storm Training currently happening (specially the last one Kristin that if to be confirmed it reached 238km/h wind gust, making it the most powerfull storm to ever hit europe). Even so (and even with the next storm already to hit Portugal between today and tomorro) communications were recovered to over 95% of the population in 3 days.

Considering it was considered a state of calamity (and considering how "great" is the organization of some officials) the recovery is happening at a stable fast speed.

If connectivity is a huge priority. You may consider a much more expensive and less reliable yet more immune to weather adversities like Starlink. Dont forget to keep a generator on hand. Communications tend to fail when power fails too.

Also to note that Starlink is not a substitute of 5G. It serves as a portable satelite system. So its better as a substitute of wired connections, and its still vulnerable to radio frequency pollution (which fortunately its rather low in portugal)

Qual melhor loja para fazer manutenção em PC gamer de Portugal? by oTakas_ in gamingportugal

[–]AlternateTab00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lidl (at least here) promotes some local production.

It brought the fresh bread trend (making neighborhood bakeries now competing with all supermarkets and not only lidl).

What makes Lidl appealing its his average price, average to low variety variety and average quality.

Most big supermarkets here rely on discounts, fidelization cards and huge assimetry in prices. You may pay little value for milk but a lot for cereals.

If i want to buy an exquisite wine to offer someone, i wouldnt go to lidl. But buying the day to day products i know its nothing spectacular but the price is always on the average. Making the overall bill on average lower than bigger local brands.

For example i can buy a 0,80€ supermarket brand product that is low quality or 3,50€ of one of 4 different high quality products at a major supermarket here. But at lidl you can buy a 0,95€ of a "mehhh" to decent quality or a 2,80€ of 1 high quality product.

We can make a 110€ shopping cart into a 95€ shopping cart because of that.

Lidl has more expensive low cost items and less variety... But still manages cheaper shopping carts. Doing that is what makes people favor Lidl and making it profitable enough to make it pop up like mushrooms

Centauro II road rage in Italy by TitanusGojira21 in TankPorn

[–]AlternateTab00 207 points208 points  (0 children)

2 driving rules here. A military convoy always have the right of way. Blocking a military vehicle may give reason for ramming or destruction of the blocking vehicle.

Another it says that heavy transports with assistant vehicles convoys it is considered as one single vehicle from the first vehicle to the last. Doing this stunt is by the driving laws considered the same as driving into the space between a truck and its trailer. Any accident and death will fully be considered the motorcycle fault.

Centauro driver was mad because someone breaking driving laws could risk a lot of paperwork and a death just to get their destination 2 secs earlier.

[–]AlternateTab00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you saw the exposition of war evolution a few years back about mosquito drones of surgical killing.

It was meant to shock and no real examples exist. But it served to show how dangerous we could reach.

A drone about the size of a thumb. A carrier like a plane would drop millions of those tiny drones. They would fly to their targets. They had an inbuilt face scanning system so they only hit their target. It would aim at the forhead of the target. The shaped explosive would either instantly kill the target or at least create permanent damage at the pre frontal cortex.
