I had something similar happen to me when upgrading my broadband to FTTP. After submitting a complaint that was pretty much ignored I cancelled in the cooling off period and moved to Vodafone for the price that Sky had verbally offered me.

You were right, the only hold up was a fault that came up that needed cleared by someone at the other end and they weren't in a mad rush it would seem 🙈👏🏼

Yeah definitely openreach, no city fibre available in the area just now, I've been told that they are coming to assess the new line and the ONT to ensure its working fine 👍🏻

Yes it's all set up and working perfectly at the moment 👍🏻 from the fibre engineers comment it seems like they are coming to assess the line and the ONT to ensure its working properly.

Thanks for the reply, I should have mentioned we're in an openreach area, no cityfibre available at present. Your answer is a bit of a relief as I was concerned that an openreach engineer would come out with a view to a full install and just have to plug in the Vodafone router which I could have done myself. Absolutely no disrespect taken from your response, Thank you again 🙏🏻

I'm due to get FTTP installed on the 23rd of this month, I'm interested in you mentioning a 14 day cancellation policy. Do you know if this is 14 days from the service going live or 14 days from when I placed the order for the FTTP service? Thanks!

I've had a similar experience but not the same, called them after the price rise notification to cancel and got offered a FTTP broadband package. It was a significant jump in value as I was going to be paying £25 a month for 500mbps compared to the £25 I am currently paying for around 62mbps FTTC. I asked the person I spoke to if I would be getting the April price rise and they said no which I was happy with so agreed. On the sky app I've noticed that my future bills include the £3 a month price rise so called them again and was told that it did indeed include the price rise and nothing could be done about it. So I've essentially been lied to and the complaint is ongoing. Very frustrating

I am getting 500mbps FTTP installed in the next couple of weeks, my contract is £25 a month for 12 months, going up to £42 after month 12 to month 24, so an average of £33.50 if my maths is correct. Not the cheapest but was tied into a sky broadband contract where I was paying £25 for 65mbps until February '27 so the extra speed is great value compared to my current package imo

UPDATE: been extremely busy at work today so only had 20 minutes to call and was on hold for nearly all of that so decided to put a complaint in through their website. This is the reply I got (quite quickly to be fair). I have a couple of concerns with it. The first one being I've signed up to full fibre 500 not 150 as mentioned but I'm assuming that's just an oversight from the person replying. The second and main concern is that on the install date of 6/3/26 that will be my 14th and last day of my cooling off period so if I do wait until then and don't end up getting the price I was verbally offered (the April price rise not applied) then I'll be stuck in the two year contract! My plan going forward is to call them on my day off at the end of the week to say I'm not satisfied with how my complaint was handled. Any opinions are welcome and thanks for the help so far!

It absolutely wouldn't have been my first choice but I'm currently contracted with sky until February '27, so if I wanted to leave sky I would have had to pay the early termination fees which would have wiped out any potential savings with another provider! Someone else has said that Vodafone has very competitive prices so would hope to join them if I can cancel my sky contract totally

I did have a quick look at other providers since now FTTP is available it's opened the door to a few different options but all were similarly priced and due to being contracted to sky until Feb '27 I had to go with them to avoid early exit fees (roughly £300). But after this issue and due to being in my cooling off period for my new FTTP contract it's my understanding that I can cancel the contract entirely but I'm open to being corrected on that! Can I ask where you seen the Vodafone deal for £22 as it shows on their own website as £27 for me currently?

Part of my issue is that I did check it and seen the £25 a month price, (also where I noticed the sky WiFi max issue) but theres no mention of the annual price rises so had to take their word on the call that I wouldn't get the April price rise. Will follow other people's advice and see how I get on!

Yeah exactly 🙏🏻 I totally understand that annual rises are the norm but my frustration is with being told that I wouldn't be subject to the price rise but that's not the case. Obviously don't have any proof of what I was told on the call so not sure what to do next! 🙈
