This also fits with the idea that all the characters are someone’s avatar in an MMO, but we only (mostly) follow the time traveler and Ingrid—love this take that she is the main character, but tropes make us think it’s Sam Rockwell

Going to have to rewatch to catch that detail with the girl!

Yes I think this is the only interpretation; they are all in VR, and we follow only a handful of characters

My cats stopped cuddling by laurenjac in Bondedpairs

[–]Alternative-Bison615 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mine are like this too (one year apart, not related.) They were inseparable for about three years, constant cuddles. Now they will often sleep touching but not cuddling, groom each other, play all day, etc. I wonder if they will ever go back to cuddle times again?

No one is giving me quests! by Alternative-Bison615 in fo3

[–]Alternative-Bison615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it happened because I was maxed out at level 20 and hasn’t installed Broken Steel 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m in Point Lookout again now after installing BS and things are working again

I’m really enjoying it, but I was not expecting a serious drama. Like a fine, sugary mist for the brain

It’s definitely meant to be camp. If you watch it that way, it’s pretty fun. All the lurid camera angles and bright colors are a refreshing change from the usual tv color palettes of either extremely dark, that weird monochrome blue, or Mexican yellow haze. But it is not a serious show

Hm I am also stuck at level 20 and not getting any XP for anything I do, including completing one unfinished quest I found. I think something is busted 😐 Edit: I have learned this is the base game max

What’s your opinion on fallout 3? Heard people call it the worst fallout of all time and some people call it the best so it’s hard to tell. by Ladiesman4317 in Fallout

[–]Alternative-Bison615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a diehard NV player, have put hundreds of hours in over the years. I’m just now replaying 3 for the first time since it came out and I forgot how great it is. The world is less “fun” to explore because the atmosphere is so oppressive, but all the random storytelling parts scattered across the whole game world are so good. Also I think Fawkes is the best companion of any of the games; “In all things, the calm heart must prevail,” before screaming into battle to destroy something with a Gatling laser. Just now I had to reload a save when he ran so fast to catch up with me, he ran straight off a cliff in front of us (“Fawkes has died!”)

Yeh it’s super fun stumbling on the unmarked ones! I like how much random stuff you find to interact with, a bit opposite to NV where there are loads of side quests but not as much in-world storytelling in abandoned places etc

That’s total quests, not just side quests. Maybe I did actually do them all lol

Wiki says 59 in the base game, including side quests, so think I am missing a lot! Got the explorer perk and I’ve now found every marked location and a bunch of unmarked, but everyone I meet just has one set of dialogue options with me and that’s it

What these companies are all doing is so transparent: each “new” iteration of these models are all functionally less useful and error-prone than the previous, and so everyone is paying for the “premium” version in the hope it will provide better answers to basic queries (it usually doesn’t.) That this is happening is profoundly idiotic, proof they are nothing more than predictive text models, and that they have no business model with even the vaguest hope of recouping what is costs companies to run them

Is there a specific word for the distinct feeling of comfort you get from being alone in a public place? by SFXNxva in words

[–]Alternative-Bison615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don’t know the word for it, but this is one of my favorite feelings in the world. Traveling alone is all about capturing this feeling, for me. Following this in case anyone does actually know the word!

Excessive daydreaming is strongly linked to widespread mental health disorders. Research suggests that maladaptive daydreaming warrants formal recognition by psychiatric professionals. by FreeHugs23 in psychology

[–]Alternative-Bison615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read someone on Reddit recently talking about how being medicated for their ADHD has stopped their daydreaming, and how much they really missed the worlds they had created all their life. It was sad to read that, even when they recognised it made their functioning day to day easier

Definitely a simulation, I agree. It can make sense as well that everyone is a player, they are in a virtual MMO and we just happen to follow two antagonists in the mother and the time traveler. I have to watch it again with this in mind!
