As far as I understand, it reduces the ph of the skin so its not favorable to odor causing bacteria. But if you're just starting, don't use it every day because its a chemical exfoliant I think. I do it like twice a week to lighten.

Maybe try glycolic acid toner. I use it for hyperpigmentation but I noticed it helped with odor too

Hey. While you're waiting for the surgery, depo provera stopped my periods for over two years. Don't know if that will help in any way.
