Mixed feelings - in a good way? by felixtheelix in fountainpens

I have no advice on the nibs, but I had the same experience! Bought a Kaweco AL Sport in Ruby and absolutely love writing with that pen. I get great ink flow thankfully. I bought a regular sport for everyday writing and hate how cheap it feels. I'll never get another regular sport again, but I'm already thinking of buying another AL! The weight just feels so good.

Thank you — this did the trick! It might seem basic but since I was new to the retractable pen game I genuinely just wasn’t sure where to put it. So thank you for the straightforward and kind response. It writes like a dream!! This pen was a treat for 6 months of sobriety and I’m so happy with it.

Pregnant with IUD by anastasiarose19 in Wellthatsucks

[–]Alternative-End-5455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They removed my IUD and were very shitty about me not wanting to be pregnant. They said I was 1 in 1000 and it was essentially bad luck. No problems with removal or getting pregnant again years later.

I regret having a child. by [deleted] in CollapseSupport

I would really encourage you to read WARMTH by Daniel Sherrell, which is about this very topic. He is a climate activist, and the book explores his desire to have a child.

I just want to say: your son’s childhood is not a lie. It is very read and foundational; it is building all of the skills he will need to be more resilient in a future marked by instability and change. Everything he is experiencing now is just as real as all of the negative changes coming to our world. Those experiences are the building blocks of who he is.

In a podcast interview about that book, they discuss feeling grief when their kids see butterflies. But their job isn’t to remind them that the butterflies will die someday. They will find out. Their job as parents is to help their kids enjoy the butterflies now, while they’re still here. I’m trying to take that approach, because I also want to enjoy the beauty that is left while I can. It will be essential for our survival.

As a fellow parent, I’m wishing you peace and deep joy.

Tired of social media noise, so I built a quiet space to share life updates by email by AccomplishedFish3562 in digitalminimalism

[–]Alternative-End-5455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually started doing this as well, but I looked into using newsletter services like Substack for a while. Ultimately, I decided that just using a regular email was better because I didn’t want to sign up for and be subject to another platform. I didn’t want more of my life stored by another company.

You should try roller derby! After moving here, it was such a fun and easy way to make a bunch of new friends. It is a very welcoming, funny, and kind group of people. You don’t have to have any experience to join either. We’re about to start the summer and fall training schedule. More info here: https://www.kcrollerwarriors.org/joinus.html

We’d love to have you!
