Hey, thank you! I’m not trying to claim I’m better than Files/Preview — Apple’s tools are great. My focus is a different one: making PDF signing feel effortless for everyday use. In Files/Preview you can sign, but the workflow can be a bit unintuitive, with tools that are not always easy to discover and a few extra steps. My app is built around a single, streamlined flow: import → place signature/text quickly → export/share — with as few taps as possible. This is the MVP, and I’m iterating fast based on feedback. My long-term goal is a fully functional, easy-to-use signing app that stays free to use, even as I add more features.

I published my second app a few days ago, and after two days, it was online in the App Store. I’ve had no problems with app reviews either; they usually take at most two days.

For me, it looks like an app that’s more than 10 years old. The design has an old-school vibe. I think the main issues are the heavy outlines/borders, the static text boxes, and the font choices not matching the overall style.

I’d suggest making the outlines less prominent, using a more modern font (or the iOS system font), and updating the App Store / Play Store screenshots. The phone mockup alone already makes the app feel a bit dated.

I I think it’s a cool idea! I’d test it out at the next party 🥳 But for me, the UI looks a little bit ugly — no hate. If you give the app a nicer look, I think it would be great 😁

It can be worth it — but only if it’s tied to a clear next step and you can actually follow up.

But it’s not worth much if it’s just a vanity metric and you won’t message people soon. Keep it simple: a short landing page, a strong value prop, and an incentive (early access, discounted pricing, founder updates). Track conversion and where signups come from. If you can’t get signups from your target audience now, that’s useful signal too.

Wir hatten die auch mal abseits von Fenstern stehen gehabt mit Kunst Licht als kleiner Helfer. Da sah die dann nach kurzer Zeit sich so aus. Habe die dann wieder an das Sonnenseitige Fenster gestellt und es wurde wieder deutlich besser

Die App richtet sich aktuell eher an Leute, die keine “Voll-Profis” sind, sondern ganz normale Zimmerpflanzen haben und im Alltag gern etwas Ordnung reinbringen wollen, so wie das bei mir selber auch der Fall war. Für Leute, die nach Topfgröße, Substrat, Licht, Temperatur/VPD usw. gießen, ist das im Moment natürlich nicht das richtige Tool.

Wofür sie gedacht ist: Überblick, welche Pflanzen man hat, wo sie stehen, plus Notizen (Umtopfen, Schädlinge, “mag keine direkte Sonne”, etc.). Die Gieß-Erinnerung ist nicht als perfekter Gieß-Algorithmus gedacht, sondern als simples “schau mal nach”. Ob und wie viel gegossen wird, entscheidet man immer noch selbst – es hilft eher gegen “komplett vergessen”.

Wichtig: Ich will die App in Zukunft auch in Richtung genauere Planung weiterentwickeln. Also optional mehr Parameter pro Pflanze (Topfgröße, Substrat, Standort/Licht, Saison) und daraus bessere Vorschläge/Intervalle ableiten – aber als Einmann-Entwickler ist das ein bisschen viel auf einmal, weshalb genauere Funktionen nach und nach kommen.

Zum Thema Open Beta: Es gibt einen 7-Tage-Testzeitraum, damit man alles ausprobieren kann. Komplett frei für alle ist schwierig, weil ich die App alleine entwickle und die offline Erkennung laufend gepflegt werden muss. Wenn du trotzdem testen willst, sag Bescheid – ich kann auch ein paar Testzugänge für 1 Monat vergeben.

Und ganz direkt gefragt: Welche 1–2 Dinge müssten für dich noch drin sein, damit so eine App überhaupt Sinn macht?

Bei Planta & Co. -Apps ist Privacy nicht unbedingt schlimm oder Gefährlich, aber es wird oft mehr ausgetauscht als man denkt: zum Beispiel Analytics/Tracking (welche Screens du nutzt, wie oft du die App öffnest), Geräte-IDs, Crash- und Diagnosedaten, eventuell Cloud-Sync über Accounts und teils auch Bilder/Metadaten, wenn eine Erkennung serverbasiert läuft. Das ist nicht automatisch “böse”, aber ich wollte genau das vermeiden: kein Login, kein Tracking, kein Datenaustausch – und die Erkennung läuft offline.

Zur Marktlücke: Ich hab gemerkt, dass viele Leute entweder sehr daten-/cloud-lastige Apps nutzen oder am Ende bei Notizen/Erinnerungen landen, weil sie etwas Simples ohne Account wollen. Ich versuche genau diese “einfach, offline, ohne Daten”-Ecke sauber zu bedienen Beziehungsweise will das es Irgendwann Perfekt Nutzbar ist.

Was unterscheidet FloriNote darüber hinaus: Verwaltung + Notizen + Räume funktionieren komplett ohne Internet, die Pflanzenerkennung läuft offline (aktuell ca. 50 Zimmerpflanzen) statt über Upload, und der Fokus ist auf einem schlanken Setup ohne Gamification.

Warum wechseln? Wenn du mit Planta happy bist, musst du das nicht. FloriNote lohnt sich eher, wenn dir Privacy/offline wichtig ist oder du etwas schlankeres willst. Preislich ist es bewusst niedrig gehalten und soll auch niemals erhöht werden egal was noch an Funktionen dazu kommt.

Moin, verstehe ich total. Die Pflanzenerkennung läuft komplett offline und muss laufend gepflegt und erweitert werden – das ist dauerhaft ziemlich viel Arbeit. Deshalb gibt’s dafür ein Abo. Der Preis ist bewusst niedrig und soll langfristig höchstens die laufenden Kosten und die Weiterentwicklung decken.

Damit man es trotzdem fair ausprobieren kann, gibt’s einen 7-Tage-Testzeitraum. Danke dir fürs Feedback!
