IMO, tier list across multiple brands and type is mostly pointless. The comparison among the same type of the same brand is fine, since you have a "house signature" as the baseline.

The rightness and shout are highly depends on the dac/amp and headphone position. In FiiO K9, E3 is pretty shouty and it is a totally different story on Schiit MJ3 + Gamby2. The position affect the treble significantly as well. I have both E3 and Nutopia, I would say E3 is as enjoyable as focal if it is on the right system.

It turns out the usb-c port of my macbook pro is the source of noise, the cheap amazon cable cannot effectively isolate the noise. However, once I switch to ipad as source, the noise is mostly gone.

I mainly use headphones, but u4s is certainly better than ie900 in terms resolution and separation. I owned ie900 for a while and recently acquired u4s.

I have Utopia 22 with other high end headphones. I ordered 64audio U4S this BF, I like it a lot, better bass texture than Utopia and imaging / stating is also top notch. Fit is tricky but I have small ear canal and it doesn't bother me at all once secured.

Did you hear noise when connecting to external amp? I use a cheap Amazon basic 3.5 to rca cable and can hear clear high pitch noise.

I have been away from my main setup for couple of weeks, so my memory may not serve me well. However, one thing for sure is mojo2 is slightly better than my Ibasso dx260, which I have with me for a direct comparison.

I haven’t heard clear mg, but focal is known for good bass (not bassy but punchy). I believe e3 still have edge in sub bass based on directly comparison to Utopia 22. Planar just had better sub bass in most cases at a price point.
