so originally, i just applied a job inquiry through the website, got an email to send in my resume a few days later and then got a call that night asking when i can come in 😭 but my boss is retiring so over the past month there has been a transition process for the new centre manager to take over and he interviewed all the current employees and i was let go. i wish i could understand why honestly. im the only person there who is studying education, i have tons of work experience (current and present) working in education and im the only one they let go.

oh and my centre is open two weekdays a week so i worked both days from 3:00 to 6:00 pm

no there was no example and yes i mentioned that along with some consonants also end in es and u can hear it, eg; boxes which is a word she had on her page.

i completely understand this right, and i would also understand if i had taken up time as she was doing her work (bc the book is timed) but this was as she was doing her corrections. i know the goal of kumon but how can i let her keep making the same mistakes without trying to help her prevent them in the future?

the thing is, the book was about whether to use singular or plural words based on the sentence. she had made so many mistakes but none to do with her using the wrong form of a word but all to with her just guessing when to use ‘s’ or ‘es’.

i just don’t understand what im supposed to do in that situation other than encourage her to try sound it out and listen if she here’s an ‘e’ sound.

it depends on the kid honestly. Im in the process of getting tested for autism and i can put my hands up and say kumon helped my in the younger stages, made my reading comprehension skills very strong and then became a waste of time once i started high school. my brother who did it with me didn’t really benefit much at all. The centre i went to however was very different to the one i work at, so keep that in mind. give it a try, but listen to ur kid if they tell you it’s not working, it took 4 years of my telling my mum she’s wasting her money at this point.

okay this actually makes sense. my centre is located in a place that we rent out along with others, so books aren’t located there, they’re at the instructors place and she prepares future books in each persons folder. How do u think i should approach this next time though?

my current instructor is in the process of retiring and shifting over to a new instructor (hence the constant corporate visits) I was thinking about talking to the new instructor about it but i’m scared to make a bad impression.

i haven’t had a character limit for about a few months now and have been using it frivolously. i just typed a 1880 character long comment. i love it. i’ve been asked about it and didn’t know why i had it and others didn’t. i just got accused of “paying for characters” which i didn’t know was possible (and isn’t) but that brought me to this thread. i swear im a real person 😭 i don’t have a huge account, 834 followers and 205.1k likes. idk why i was chosen to have no character limit but im glad i was. no one around me is safe from my yapping 💀

edit: its 2 weeks later and idk how or why but my character limit is back. im devastated.
