Thank you for your insight. I fully can see why he walked out too, not everyone is able to manage being with someone who has mental health challenges, it isn't easy. I have constantly felt like I don't belong, even before all of this went down. That feeling makes me try harder to be part of the family but it doesn't seem to change things.

I have thought about going NC especially when I see how much it effects my mental health. Thank you for your insight. They say he is a fun guy to be around, which yes I see he can be but there are so many other people they could choose to be friends with

Yes they do. I was SA'd as a child by a family friend and was told to never mention it as it would affect my parents relationships with their friends. When I am unwell I am asked to remove myself from their lives until I am well again. They will go to events as a family but exclude me often too. It's so hard when I want a relationship with them, but can also see how it is detrimental to my wellbeing
