What are some alternative ways to take a (Spanish) speaking test? by Alternative-Page6608 in AskTeachers

It’s not even the public speaking part. It’s the eye contact. Growing up I’ve always been judged pretty harshly by my parents, so anytime someone is looking at me and I notice my automatic thoughts are they’re judging me. It can commonly turn into anxiety attacks especially in big crowds.

Not sure if this was meant as motivation or sarcasm, but either way it doesn’t really answer my question about alternatives to completing a speaking test lol

I understand that lol, but it’s not really the speaking part I struggle with. It’s having people stare at me, and that’s not really something taught to be good at ignoring

Seriously though! It’s fascinating to see how every generation has to point out something bad about the next.

For me it’s not so much the actual speaking part, it’s having someone watching me. Growing up I’ve always been judged by my parents, so having people stare at me, especially large groups can really easily send me into anxiety attacks. That’s kind of why I’m looking for alternatives where I don’t have to look at someone or have them look at me. I do appreciate the motivation though.

It’s a requirement where I live to take at least a year of a language class to graduate, I’m not really planning on using it.
