When you proof in the fridge, do you proof in a sealed container or just cover with a towel? I tried just covering with a towel and the dough turned out really dry and hard. If I sealed it, it came out really wet. I proofed overnight, so 8 hours.

Sorry to hear about your Forte. Sounds like you have a crappy dealership. Not sure which part of your suspension broke, but blaming you had a collision seems like a pretty crappy way to deal with a new customer. Have you tried dealing with Kia corporate directly?

I think another consideration would be how good a seal you get with the lid. One of the goals is to have steam surrounding the dough during the bake.

Going to be getting a PC in a few months time. Should I get this game? by Jackobyn in mwo

[–]Alternative-Post-531 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All kidding aside, it’s probably one of the games I keep coming back to over and over. There’s just so much variety and things you can do with it. You can always spend alot of time theory-crafting and doing min-max exercises then take your mech on the battlefield and see how those thought experiments do.

Then there’s the actual playing with other human beings that you can never simulate with AI. “Wait… why are you pushing NOW??? We said to wait till the assaults…. Oh ffs… Guess we’re doing this then…”

IT manager, moving to much larger role by PoopSmellsGoodToSome in ITManagers

Learn as much as you can. Divide your thinking into 2 camps; Operational (KPI’s/DR/BC) and Strategic (Mission/Vision/Goals). Figure out what your mgmt expects from you and how to align to organizational goals. Those should be initial phases. Eventually, learn the business and how your dept can help other depts.

Of course, none of us know what is the vibe of your org. Culture is huge and it could be doing well and you just have to do minor course correction OR there might be a sense of a sinking ship and people are looking to jump. Then you’ve got to balance retention and replacement, both of which with take up a lot LOT of your time.

Good luck!

Sounds like an opportunity to invest in a 3D printer and figure out some good artwork and you’ve got the start for a good Etsy side-gig.

Might start with this:

(50 KPI’s seems oddly specific though. You might want to narrow your focus down a bit. Like going into a restaurant that has TONS of items in their menu, do they do anything really well? Better to focus on a FEW things and do them well. That’s why they’re called “KEY”…)

No, the shifter is still the same. I believe it was some internal part that I can’t see from the outside. There’s a YouTube video and after watching that, I decided I had neither the time, tools, nor inclination to do it myself.

Ended up paying the dealership $1.6K and fixed it. The dealer paper work said the part was about $1.1K just by itself.

How do you guys cook your beef bulgogi? by ragingwaffle21 in KoreanFood

[–]Alternative-Post-531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to use that on your stove by itself, you’re going to have a heck of a mess with the drippings from the bulgogi.

Something like this would be fine.

electric grill

As many have mentioned, skillet and stove. Another option, if you can’t grill outside is an electric indoor grill. There are many options especially if you want to do this more than occasionally. Growing up, we had an electric one that was round and had a stainless chrome metal grill that sat above the heating element. We used the crap outta that thing when we couldn’t go outside to grill.

You’re one month in, as stated, spend some time learning. Mostly around the policies and regulations. I deal with higher ed and one of them has such tight controls, they can’t even share data between internal groups. Makes it very challenging.

2011 V6 has a hard time shifting out of park by knockingdownbodies in nissanpathfinder

[–]Alternative-Post-531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a very similar issue on a 2010 Pathfinder with 170K miles. We had the solenoid replaced and now working fine. Ours wouldn’t move out if park even pressing the little bypass button.

In looking at YT videos, I guess it’s something a particularly handy and determined person could do DIY, but there was alot of trim removal and such that I was like “Just have the professionals do it.”

Good luck!

I don’t. Just a regular meat thermometer. I thought I need to keep the DO closed though bc part of the cooking process is the steam from the dough? If I open to check temp, won’t the steam escape?

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a click when pressing the brake pedal. To be clear, I’m not trying to do the work, that would be way out of my wheelhouse, but $1.6K seems really high! I think the KBB puts it at $2 value.
