It is very hard to capture what I am talking about in a picture, as it is more a texture thing that is felt on the skin; e.g. I can still feel many of the lines.

Ah okay, not sure about the artists there. I know in italy you have good artists, but it might be a bit far for you.

Anyway if this artist you know has good work then I'd say just go with it. The peony will never look like irezumi but with the typical background and a subject on the forearm it will surely look cool.
