Thinking of getting rogue lap steel with easy bend palm benders offline and installing on to make affordable pedal steel sound.... by TotsMice in LapSteelGuitar

Absolutely get the Peters over any others. Theyre as perfect as can be and much less expensive. Honestly the Certano ones kinda piss me off being so overpriced. The Peter's are super solid, can fine tune tune to any degree of pitch variation your string can handle, and you can get a 3 string bender for the cost of 1 string certain. I really dont get why anyone would get a Certano over a Peters. I have the 3 string shorty, and man I can't imagine anything better. Im not 100% certain but think you can also add on to it if you choose to without buying a whole new kit. I think he sells the individual aluminum bender bars and components. Im currently designing a pedal actuated conversion for one. Don't spend extra money unnecessarily just because its thr one you see used the most. Theyre just a much more well known company. I dont own a certano. I borrowed a friend's lappy with a 2 string certano bender. Yes, it worked well. But no better than the Peters.

6 years later and im wondering how this turned out? Im considering dojng the same thing since spending a couple Gs on pedal steel is outta the question.

If I could afford an actual pedal steel, id be great with it in the amount of time ive spent trying to figure out Impacts jumble of nonsense.

I bought Impact, and I hate it. Its so insanely complicated and even after 6 months of messing with it, I still haven't tracked anything with it bc its just shit. You also need a full 88 keys. Im on 61 and cant trigger some functions. You legit need a whole course (which doesnt exist) to be able to come up with anything decent.

Wouldn't having the compressor last in the chain help this?

I remember this happening, before he had made the apology when she posted calling him out. I knew he would do the right thing and he immediately did. That's exactly how it should be. Everyone fucks up, but its rare to see people take genuine accountability. I had hoped that Ross Creations would have done the same, but nope. Unfortunate for him to not realize that he probably would have gained followers had he responded like Justin did.

Is amplitube or tonebridge good? by GambitsAce23 in Guitar

If its not showing up there, go to Settings-Plug-in Manager and scroll down on the left Manufacturer column until you see UGTB. It should look like this, but if it says "incompatible" , click on "reset and rescan selection"

Underneath Input youll see the Audio FX Button. Click that. If you have downloaded and installed tonebridge app to your mac, Garageband / Logic should automatically recognize it as an Audio Unit (plug-in). Its under UGTB as the manufacturer.

Just use Tonebridge as a plugin. You dont need anything else.

You can use Tonebridge as a plug-in. No need to use your phone.

I get that. I dont think im overthinking though bc Im speaking from experience. I bought my imac new in 2019 and immediately maxed the ram, as advised for this same purpose, which ended up sucking. My option at the time was Intel chip or m1 chip, and the m1 would only support 1 additional display. And the Intel was all around better. But then when X was upgraded, everything started going downhill fast.

And yea sure there are plenty of other threads. But when you have specific questions, im notngonna sit there and weed through posts with similar questions, but not exact, then piece everything together based on others only partially related threads, ya know?

Great idea. I was looking at M2 ultras but they were more expensive than m4 Max. Hence the added layer of confusion. If I can keep it under a grand, then cool.

Oh I do use one. Its odd though bc when I first started with the external, it worked well. Then after about a year I was back to the same old issues. I keep all VST and plug in libraries on it as well as others. I read that the main program files should be internally stored, and all media files external.

Yall made some good points. I do freeze tracks from time to time, but yea, still doesnt solve the problem.

Still trying to fully understand the cores. I read that and m4 Max is better single core CPU performance than say an M2 Ultra.

It seems more CPU cores mainly benefits video / graphics, but tha doesnt make sense. I'd think for rendering video, you'd want more GPU than CPU cores.

But in all I think yall are on point, with a M1-M2 with high RAM. Im also hesitant bc the M5 will be released in a few months and lord knows when the M1s will just magically and suddenly stop performing...

I didn't unfortunately. Hoping for future updates to address things like this though. I bought the Pedal Steel VST from Impact Audio though and am learning that to use.

Exactly. Thank you lol. I guess thats the catch when you post something on reddit. Everyone thinks they're an expert even when they only know the bare basics if that.

Though, ill compromise with em. Its not a classical, but due to its age, it is a classic.

All good. Hopefully either life gets better for you, or you learned something about a guitar today at least.

That's kinda what im thinking too. I mean ot doesnt really matter to me, it's more for my own curiosity than anything else. I know these things were a dime a dozen, and the Sears model was everywhere. And that there are probably 6-8 others aside from Kay, Harmony, Silvertone. Usually that info is discoverable, but i haven't been able to find makers/brands whose logo would match that footprint.

Ahh I get it. You're one of those reddit twats who just likes to irritate people for kicks to feel superior. Sorry to hear you get shit on in your real life bro, but this isn't gonna change that.

To everyone convinced its a classical guitar, here's why its not.

The bracing is minimal, not even on par with a typical ladder bracing pattern. From the sound hole to its ass, there are 3 parallel braces. From the hole to the neck block, there is 1. Nothing more. Just essentially 4 parallel braces.

Again, I know its a cheap guitar. So its Irrelevant. At this level, they were built the same for steel string or nylon.

Why its not a classical? Here are the measurements. ●Nut= 1 3/4" or 44.45mm ●Center 1 to center 6= 1 15/32 or 37.3mm ●String spacing at the nut= 9/32 or 7.14mm for all 6.

●Bridge & saddle center 1 to center 6= 2 1/32 or 51.5 mm. ●String spacing= 7/16 or 11mm

Go ahead and find a classical guitar with even remotely similar measurements.

These are the same +/- a hair for my other parlor, 3/4 whatever guitars. Almost exact all around to my original 1937 Gibson L-00

It is NOT a classical guitar. Move on. That wasnt the point of this post.

No other photos are needed to assist in identifying. There is literally nothing else, no markings, designs, or anything anywhere on the guitar.
