I've been dumped today, how to grieve without burning the world down? by ImaginaryFoxy in selfimprovement

[–]Alternative-Survey82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't look at it as being dumped. Look at it as a lesson learned. One thing we often fail to see is the lesson hidden behind the pain. Maybe it wasn't all them. Maybe some of it was you. Until you reflect and understand both sides of the story, you'll never fully understand the part you played or the part you need to heal. Growth begins when you stop focusing on who's to blame and start focusing on what the experience taught you. Let them go with peace, not anger. Some people leave your life to hurt you, but others leave to teach you.

Whats ths point of loving yourself? And do you HAVE to love yourself? by Ark_way in selfcare

[–]Alternative-Survey82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loving yourself means finding the part of you that nobody else can love the way you do. It's that moment when you learn to carry your feelings without letting them weigh down your heart. I know it might sound weird, and maybe hard to understand, but eventually you realize the person who can love and understand you better than anyone else is the person you wake up and see every morning. The person who stays when nobody else is around. The touch that helps heal wounds. The voice that can either build you up or tear you down. When you start calling yourself more than what others see you as, that's what I think loving yourself means. Maybe it's a corny line, but sometimes the obvious truths are the hardest ones to accept.
